Currently watching Father Brown "The Tower of Lost Souls" and I'm 🤩🤩

All three of the inspectors are there. Valentine, Sullivan AND Mallory...

And poor Goodfellow again has to deal with all of them At Once.

Ntm that all of the one's who 'got away' (aka Valentine and Sullivan) are excited to have Father Brown help them - what makes Mallory very grumpy and me very delighted 🤗

My favorite scene so far: the three Inspectors are arguing about how to get into the charity event (w/o endangering anyone) while Father Brown quietly leaves the room - what only Goodfellow notices until he looses his patience and (ofc very polite) called their attention on the missing priest, and they all step through the door and watch Father Brown doing what they were still debating about aka calling Bunty who'll get them into the charity event🥺🤗

And both Sullivan AND Valentine are so charmed seeing Mrs M. again, and both ask Father Brown in that fond tone "still afraid of heights?"🥺

It's like a class reunion but way better❤️

Nope, I have a new favorite scene:

I never would've thought that I'd like Valentine the most (I always kinda preferred Mallory over the other two buuut this was too precious 🥺)

I politely request more Bobby/Joan marriage headcanons from Father Brown please

  • Joan frets that Bobby finds her boring, so one night when he and Bunty have plans to go out, she asks if she can tag along. Bobby is concerned at first that a club won’t be her vibe, but Bunty is overjoyed at the prospect of having a female friend to get into trouble with. Though Joan refrains from drinking any alcohol, she loosens up a bit when Bobby teaches her how to play card games. Thanks to her mathematic mind, she’s quite a quick learner, and the other men at the club tease Bobby about where he found himself such a keeper. He just blushes and thanks his lucky stars that she’s a better gambler than he is.
  • The guys in town play casual games of football on Saturdays (including Sid, Inspectors Valentine and Sullivan, Goodfellow, and Bunty if she throws enough of a fit about gender equality). Sid invites Bobby to play and Joan brings Arthur to watch. Joan has never found sports to be very interesting, but when it’s Bobby that’s playing…well…
  • Several lads from Joan’s classes at the university have been asking her to study/do homework together, and Bobby is worried. Does Joan prefer to spend time with someone who can match her intellect? Being Bobby, he broods + drinks up a storm until the Father suggests he actually TALK to his wife. In turns out Joan doesn’t enjoy spending time with her male classmates because they’re so competitive and often (incorrectly) mansplain the curriculum to her. She also reassures Bobby that their differences in experience & knowledge make their conversations invigorating, and she loves spending time with him.
  • Arthur’s birthday is coming up Joan & Bobby have decided to redo the nursery at the main estate into a playroom for him as a surprise. One day, Lady Felicia is paying a visit to Mrs. Malmort and overhears them whispering about it. Of course, she misinterprets their reason for redoing the baby’s room as a pregnancy announcement. Gossip that she is, she lets the news slip to Mrs. M. Small-town chaos ensues.
  • Bobby has many talents, one of them being dancing. Joan’s never had the chance to learn herself, so Bobby (literally) takes the lead to show her how…cue lots of eye gazing and romantic tension!!!

  • Sid lights a cigarette
  • Father Brown talks as if he’s out of breath
  • Mrs. McCarthy calls someone a heathen

Take Two Shots:

  • Award Winning Strawberry Scones™
  • Father Brown tries to nick said scone
  • Lady Felicia tries to seduce someone

This reminds me of smth wonderful I found out a long time ago: There exists an Inspector Barnaby Bingo…. It’s only in German as far as I know but it’s hilarious. One of the boxes says “there are 3 bodies” “Sergeant Troy almost crashes the car”… 😂😂😂
