[ID: the "who would win?" meme:

One side showing Jonathan Brewster and Herman Einstein from "Arsenic and Old Lace" (1941), captioned:

A man who looks like Frankenstein's monster, greatly enjoys torture and murder, doesn't feel pain in parts of his body, and has tormented his family ever since he was a small child and his criminal surgeon partner who has assisted him in killing throughout multiple countries and can entirely change his appearance to slip away from police capture.

The other side shows Abby and Martha Brewster from "Arsenic and Old Lace" (1941):

Thinking about Abby and Martha discussing their murders with Jonathan, basically repeating the explanation they gave mortimer and much like Mortimer, Jonathan's very vocal to them about how he doesn't want them to be killing people and wants them to stop. Only unlike his brother, Jonathan's just insecure about the fact that his old, uncool aunts are not just doing what's supposed to be his thing, but are just as good at it as him and he thinks killing out of a desire to do good and with only one, nonpainful or gorey method, is cringe and lame

Favorite Female Movie Characters #29 The Brewster Sisters

Movie: Arsenic and Old Lace

Favorite Quote:

Abby Brewster: Oh, Mortimer, don't be so inquisitive. The gentleman died because he drank some wine with poison in it.

Mortimer Brewster: How did the poison get in the wine?

Martha Brewster: Well, we put it in wine, because it's less noticeable. When it's in tea, it has a distinct odor.

And...it's finished, all chapters are uploaded - I'm a bit sad😭 BUT I already have (several) ideas for other (and probably shorter) stories for these two😌 - one will take place in Mortimer's, Jonathan's and Teddy's childhood - but as we say in German "sie steckt noch in den Kinderschuhen" (it's stil in its infancy - huh, well, that's almost the same saying🤷🏻‍♂️). There's also a bonus scene at the end that didn't quite fit the tone of the story (a bit too silly - or not, I'm not so sure anymore) but was too dear to me for it to be deleted....😊

Hello aaol fandom! I wrote something, and because I love shameless self-advertisement, I'm posting it here! It's Johnathan Brewster/Herman Einstein, but almost all the other characters make an appearance too, so there's something for everyone in this tiny fandom

A new aaol fanfic!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉

And it's so very very good and gives me so many fuzzy, warm feelings ❤️

Go, check it out!!!!

[ID: The 'Kuzco's poison meme from Emperor's New Groove but with Abby and Martha Brewster from the 1941's movie Arsenic and Old Lace. One sees Mortimer Brewster (Cary Grant) from behind, talking to his aunts, Martha and Abby, two old white ladies in dresses from the late 19th century. Over the four photos is the following text written:

Oh, right, the poison. The poison for our gentlemen. The poison chosen especially to kill our gentlemen. Our gentlemen's poison.

I bought the colorized version of "Arsenic and Old Lace" and I'm in love❤️❤️

(I mean I love both version, obv, but it was mesmerizing!!! The trees, the background, all the little details😱😍😍 - It costed only 15$ and it was a DVD and not a VHS cassette so.....i had to buy it😂)

(besides Johnny and Herman are in color even gayer 🤣 also Johnny is, in the Melbourne scene, more terrifying 😅 or I just watched the black'n'white version too often 😅🙈)

Hach😍😍

I'm currently reading skimming over the shooting script of Arsenic and Old Lace:

@everyone who likes AaoL, and especially Jonathan and Dr. Einstein: we were robbed😭😭

My absolute favorite scene (Frank Capra I'll never forgive you that you cut this🤬) is when Herman and Johnny arrive at the Brewster Home and try to bribe convince the aunts to let them stay for dinner and the following conversation takes places:

Jonathan: But my great disappointment is for Dr. Einstein. (The aunts look at Einstein.) I promised him that no matter how rushed we were in passing through Brooklyn, I would take the time to bring him here for one of Aunt Martha's home cooked dinners.
Martha *rises to this a bit*: Oh?
Abby: I'm sorry. I'm afraid there wouldn't be enough.
Jonathan *playing it up*: Oh, well, when you've gone four days without food I guess another day doesn't matter. I can stand it but it's Dr. Einstein I'm worried about - (Dr. Einstein coughs.) Well, we'll go on, Doctor. Perhaps some passing stranger will grant us a crust of bread...
Martha *can stand it no longer*

Me: And they were tombmates... 😉

[ID: a screenshot of a part of the "Arsenic and Old Lace" movie script:

Mortimer starts running upstairs.

Mortimer: Uh-hu? Oh, I was getting some papers signed. Is Teddy in his room?

Martha: Oh, Mortimer, what is the matter with you? Running around getting papers signed at a time like this.

Abby: Martha and I are going for the police.

Mortimer: Police!

He quickly gets back downstairs.

Mortimer: Oh-oh-oh! Wait-wait-wait! You can't go for the police.

Martha: Oh, no? You know what Jonathan's doing?

Abby: He's putting Mister Hoskins and Mister Spenalzo in together. /end ID]
