From the DVD commentary, episode 3:
Neil Gaiman: Do you think he cheats on the toss?
Douglas Mackinnon: A hundred percent.
Neil Gaiman: Yeah, me too. I think it doesn’t even occur to Aziraphale.

douglas mackinnon likening crowley’s bentley to the doctor’s tardis for david tennant is very emotional and meaningful, yes, but at the same time, i can’t help but think about the context in which this comparison occurred. david was like, “hey, how emotional do you need this?” and mackinnon was just like, “like if the doctor saw the tardis blow up.” and i really feel like that implies a.) david tennant needs every role explained to him in terms of doctor who, or b.) directors think that david tennant needs everything explained to him in terms of doctor who.
david: how much does he love her?
director: she’s his rose tyler.
david: :’) okay
david: how much does he love her?
director: she’s his rose tyler
david, with a slight eye roll: okay
I present to you Scenario C, where David is such a fucking nerd that the fact he played the role has nothing to do with him using it as a reference 😂
Ohhh, Neil shared a bts and info that where scene took place :) (x)
