- a masterlist of everything i’ve written can be found here.
- if my blog theme or blog in general is inaccessible to anyone—whether that be mobile users, people who use screen-readers, etc—please tell me. that is a thing i care about
- I do take requests! send them as an ask and I make write a drabble or even full fic inspired by them. guidelines for what i will and will not write can be found here, but don't fret too much about them. i'm not going to bite your head off if you ask me to write something on the "no" list, the "guidelines" only exist so you know not to waste your time asking me for things i won't write when there are a lot of talented people out there who will.
- i am autism. I’m visible in your children, but if I can help it—(/ref) anyway. i am autistic and that will show sometimes. i tend to be literal-minded. there is a non-zero chance i will misunderstand your ask and need clarification, i’m sorry if it winds up being inconvenient! i’m also. very blunt at times. i’m not mad, i just talk like this. i overcompensate for that too so i will jarringly flip between speaking very bluntly and formally and adding about five thousand emojis and exclamation marks to my words because i noticed i sounded blunt. enjoy!
- there may or may not wind up being 18+ content on this blog. i’ll update this if that does happen. as of right now there is not, but in the event that there is it will be tagged as #nsfw and politely ask that any underage followers block that tag if they haven’t already.
- please don’t ask me to talk about fandom drama unless i somehow wind up doing it first. i’m here to mash my blorbos together not get into arguments.
- ill occasionally talk about things i dont like about the things i like. block #negative if you only want to see jokes and analysis
- and finally, if you're interested in my mediocre gifs/icons, come shout at me at my editing sideblog
The federal government is "seriously" considering building the country's first high-speed rail link between Quebec City and Toronto, says Public Services and Procurement Minister Jean-Yves Duclos. Ottawa announced plans back in 2021 to build what it called a "high-frequency" (HFR) rail corridor with stops in Toronto, Peterborough, Ottawa, Montreal, Trois-Rivières, Laval and Quebec City. At the time, the government estimated the cost at between $6 billion and $12 billion. The federal government identified three qualified bidders for the project last year. A spokesperson for VIA HFR, the VIA Rail subsidiary set up to oversee the project, said the bidders have been asked to provide the government with two options: a "conventional" rail network with trains reaching speeds of 200 km/h, and a network with trains reaching speeds "comparable to those of European trains."

i got so excited when the dog showed up in 8x21 i thought jj's trauma might get referenced. thats on me for thinking the cm writers remember the ways in which they hurt their characters 👍
Morgan - That’s it. It’s freezing. i’m turning the heat up.
Reid - No. If you're cold, go stand in the corner. It’s ninety degrees over there.

ok last thing. but what people fundamentally need to get through their heads is the significance of gaza fundraisers not being the same as like mutual aid when you're helping someone get groceries, because it is a genocide. there is insane deliberate scarcity and prices are unmanageable, because there is nowhere nearly enough for everyone, so only people who can pay can eat. and what positioning individual fundraisers as the only course of action does is quite simply give a tiny percentage of random people whose fundraisers take off the ability to pay those prices while thousands of others can't. and every one of those thousands of people without a fundraiser is suffering through the same inconceivably horrific reality. it is giving a few completely desperate people out of hundreds of thousands a slightly more favorable position in a horrific war economy of imposed scarcity. and what grassroots community kitchens do is try to mitigate in some small way that inconceivable hierarchy of who can pay and who can't, by stretching ingredients as far as they can last to cook meals at large scale and give them out at no cost. and obviously people are still going to send money to their friends and families because this is hell what else are we supposed to do but please just think about that before promoting endless individual fundraisers as somehow the most ethical way to help
I recommend you prioritize these initiatives in 2 ways:
1) When it comes to individual fundraisers, only prioritize those that are in incredibly vulnerable medical or injured situations and need high costs to take care of medical issues.
2) Then prioritize the aid initiatives that exist. Be it Mona's distribution initiative (Instagram, GFM), or any of the trusted others I'm seeing circulating around. To maximize the spread of the goods and provide relief for a larger number of people.
The border hasn't opened in a long time, so prioritizing mutual aid initiatives is more effective than singular fundraisers, UNLESS those fundraisers are for people in mortal danger and need medical care FAST.
“I’m not sleeping because when I do I see Maeve, and when I see her I feel the sweetest relief imaginable. She always asks me to dance, but I can’t because I don’t know how to dance and because I never got to touch her when she was alive. I know if I give into that fantasy I’ll be lost forever, so I force myself to wake up.”
I think it’s connected to this other case.
Howdy folks, the Senate will be considering the first ever resolution blocking arms to Israel. This is huge and historic; it would block government contracting and about $20 billion in arms and support. This is an uphill battle, PLEASE urge your senators to support S.J.Res114-115. This is maybe the most important piece of legislation relating to Palestine that we have ever gotten and we must seize this opportunity.
This doc has information on the resolutions and their process, as well as sample messages and a phone script you can use. Please, use this moment to hear witness for your neighbors.
This is a massive call to action even if you live in a blue state! You cannot simply trust that your senator will do the right thing here. They need to hear that we still care even if the election is behind us.

What do you think about US Americans who are considering moving to Canada following this election? Is it misguided/misinformed to think it might be any better there? Is there anything in particular to be aware of when making that choice?
It's definitely an option I'm starting to seriously consider as a trans person already within a few hours drive of Vancouver, but there's a "danger you know" element to it all, and I'm very aware of just how little I really know about what my siblings across the border are dealing with right now. The whole idea has been a joke for so long that I'm kind of embarrassed to even be thinking about it, honestly.
As I said in that master post I shared, that Canada has the same systemic issues as the USA, but even with that said things in a lot of ways Canada is safer for Trans people (at least in the bigger cities), at the moment.
But the caveat is that multiple Premiers/Provincial Parties and the Federal Conservatives (who have a good chance of winning the next election) have proposed a lot of the same Transphobic policies as has been in the USA. Its not as bad here yet, but I do see warning signs flashing red, and it could get worse.
If you would feel more safe, and have the resources to do so, then apply, but it is a long and difficult process, so just keep that in mind.
As I said on that post, I'm not judging anyone. If you do feel unsafe, moving to Canada may be a way to get away from that danger, but you're not going to be able to claim asylum (due to USA/Canada immigration agreements), and so you'd have to be an economic immigrant with a job or have family in Canada.
