Wisptober Day 24 - Orchestra

"On October night you might be lucky enough to have the Black cat Fiddler and his “Orchestra” visit your roof. So be sure to leave a tip of cream or treat for them just in case.“

This one is pretty simple but…..I really love how it turned out like one of those old vintage Halloween postcard!:D

Hey I make edits on tiktok and wanted to ask if it would be ok for you if I use your Art. My videos are just for fun and I don't earn any money with them. The most edits are about the Silmarillion and I would give credits for shure :)

Hello! My apologies for the delayed response. I've had consistent issues with getting notified about messages. I'd be happy to let you use my art for edits. As long as I'm notified and credited—which you're doing—I think that's wonderful. Thanks for asking!

Four pieces in mixed media collage, part of a recent series.

These small, scrap-based pieces comprise a narrative of archetypes.

Found papers, wax, acrylic, foil, and elements from Cut Loose No.1, a project from Twin Cities Collage Collective.

The spell.

The hermit.

The old witch.

People said that Tumblr isn't a great place to post original art that isn't fanart, but I'm doing it anyway because I haven't got the motivation to draw anything else

Happy pride month lads! 🧡💛🤍💙

letter from a mother of a gay man. sent to ONE magazine, 1958.

This post was flagged as adult content and the original poster was deactivated so I'm bringing it back.

“Mrs R” was the pseudonym of Phyllis Shafer, a Kansas City local who helped found the Phoenix Society for Individual Freedom in 1966, a full three years before Stonewall. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, she and her son Drew operated the Phoenix House, a safe haven for queer people in the city, and a hub of national queer activism. Drew passed away due to AIDS related complications in the 1980s, and his lover, Mickey Ray, spent the rest of his life fighting to keep his memory alive, largely contributing to the creation of the Gay and Lesbian Archive of Mid-America.

“We tend to view American history as this constant march toward progress, which is total crap,” he says. “You gotta fight for that stuff. And if you don't fight for that, you can fall backward. Like it's not just this linear history."

Good quote from the article which may be relevant right now.

Bring this bad boy back with some delicious context for pride

[ID: Old photo of a typed letter.

Gentlemen:

I am not of the Gay World, but "straight". I have one child, a 22 year old boy, who has been Gay since he was 14 years old. I have known about this since last April. Since then I have made his life my life.

My husband and I have a large three-story house and we are filling our house with Gay boys. So far we have six who are rooming and boarding with us. The people I have known so far of the Gay World are wonderful, talented, fascinating people. I love them all. Since they have come to our home they are much more settled down, much happier and more secure. In our home they know they can be themselves are are protected. What a pity there cannot be more "straight" people who understand and accept Gay people. My son says I know more about Gay Life and homosexuality than a lot of Gay people do.

I am trying to write a book, in order to bring better relationships between parents and children of the Gay World. We have had parties in our home accommodating 25 to 30 at a time that were talked about for months afterward. They were nice, decent parties, where they can have drinks and be themselves.

So proud of my mother for doing her own research after I sent her that meme. A sign she hung in her car window.

Stay woke

Is this true?

Not only is it true, it gets worse. The Susan G Komen For The Cure Foundation has actually successfully sued “competing” charities, because (paraphrasing) their “message or branding was infringing.”

You read that correctly: they took money that people had donated to cure cancer, and hired attorneys with it, to sue ANOTHER group of people trying to find a cure for cancer, who, in turn, had to us their donated money to hire their own legal counsel to defend themselves.

Yeah signal boost because not enough people know about this and seriously FUCK SUSAN G. KOMEN THEY ARE THE ACTUAL WORST

Reblog every time I see it. Roughly once a month.

Also please never forget the pink fracking drill bit

that’s right fracking you know, a process using chemicals known to cause cancer that leech into the water supply

It’s that time of year again, please remember Komen is the actual worst

Komen For The Cure is pretty much awful.

My mother died in 1996 from breast cancer. Most cancer charities are scams, in that people throw fancy parties and get rich off them and very little money goes into research or support for patients. Here are some vetted cancer charities that get good scores on Charity Navigator and pay medical expenses or fund research:
