From Day to Night: Seamus' Dining Room

Of Sense and Soul is a game about self discovery and belonging, and seeing as it’s Ace Week, I thought it might be nice to take a little look at Hugo’s asexuality! 💜🖤🩶🤍

As a demisexual human myself (the lead developer, @ingthing) there's a lot of my own experience with aceness in Hugo's character, and I really love how he grows through the story.

In Hugo’s time, sexuality wasn’t well discussed as it is today, so he's long embraced that he’s a bookish homebody; blanketed in that persona is also his lack of attraction. He largely sees marriage and love in terms of social expectation — everyone falls in love and gets married, eventually, right? And he's comfortable being a late bloomer to all of it.

Still, his loneliness drives him to reach out through a fateful Matrimonial News advert; he’s never experienced a love story for himself, but harbours hope that he might find one, someday!
