Call me a commie or whatever, but I don't think the price of things should go up unless the quality and/or quantity of the thing increased. Inflation is bullshit.
Look, one way or another, capitalism is going to come to an end. It's inevitable as it is an unsustainable economic model that seeks to use all resources to create capital for the wealthy. The only choice we have in the matter is whether we kill it to save ourselves or let it go until it kills itself and takes us with it.
Personally, I'd rather kill it than let it destroy the planet and everyone who lives on it.
I don't think charitable donations should be tax deductible. Of you're donating to lower your taxes, then it's not charitable. It's a business transaction.
Sure, no longer allowing them to be deducted night mean fewer rich people make charitable donations, but we shouldn't be relying on their charity in the first place. They should be paying their fair share of taxes and the government should fund the stuff directly. Less middlemen that way and far fewer restrictions/stipulations/demands placed on how the charity uses the money.
The stock market isn't the economy, it's just a bunch of complicated stat sheets that rich people bet on to try and increase their high score (wealth). The actual economy is everyday people going out and buying stuff that they need or want. Thus, the economy isn't doing well if the stock market is up but everyday people can't afford to buy things.
The world would be so much better if people were allowed to do what they want instead of what they need to to pay bills and ensure their existence.
This was a real article that someone wrote unironically. lol
Guess they missed the class about how the Roaring Twenties ended.
Capitalism Kills Innovation
If you see someone stealing some food, either let them go or offer to buy it for them. Don’t be an asshole and rat them out. 95% of people stealing a few dollars worth of food are doing it because they need to eat, not for the thrill of it. The store is only gonna be out a couple dollars, but it could mean the difference between life and death for that person.
You ever notice it's only "free shit" when it's going to those that actually need help? When it's for the rich it's called a loophole, a tax haven, a perk, a golden parachute, etc.
You know, the US didn't become a global powerhouse because we were superior to other nations. It was mostly luck of the draw. Both World Wars destroyed pretty much all of Europe while there wasn't any significant damage to the US homeland. While European countries were rebuilding their entire countries, the US was free to build up our own, which had escaped the war unscathed (excepting human life lost). We used that time to build up our economy, infrastructure, and military - the latter of which was much feared after we had shown we were willing to use the single most devastating weapon ever created. We gained our power through fluke and then lorded it over the rest of the world like a petulant child with a stolen toy.
And look at where it got us. The US vision of Capitalism was emulated across the world and many economies have been floundering as the US reaches the end stages of Capitalist society. The US should not have had the power it had. We were too young and too full of ourselves. We wielded it poorly and the world is paying for it.
Sometimes you make a joke about proles and then you find yourself reading about Marxism, Capitalism, Social Anarchism, and more.
Or, maybe, that's just me...
It's Black Friday. The proles are out fighting for the treats from the Bourgeoisie. They still have to pay, they just get to pay less.
