"Violence is never the answer" is something you tell children because they do not yet have the capacity to understand the nuances of how and why violence can be a useful tool. Violence is one of the greatest tools of change that humanity has. It has done more to shape this world - for better or worse - than anything else in history. Violence can destroy and degrade, but it can also be salvation and lead people out of suffering. The problem is not violence, but rather how and why it is wielded. When used against those who oppress others, violence is a righteous act that can provide freedom and justice.

  Violence should not be the first option, but it should not be off limits either. If talking it out fails to stop the violence you face, then violence in return is a justifiable response.

I just realized what my dream job is. 

I want to be paid to follow billionaires, CEOs, or politicians around and tell them when they're being an asshole. I will not be polite about it and I will not listen to their arguments. They can't hire me, but their employees can. The only offer I will accept to stop following them would be $10,000,000 and a permanent 100% increase in wages for all non-managerial employees.

The world would be so much better if people were allowed to do what they want instead of what they need to to pay bills and ensure their existence. 

Capitalism Kills Innovation

Centrism will not save us.

Centrism and moderation in times of extremes such as we are in now is akin to putting a band-aid on a missing limb; functionally useless and more of an annoyance than anything. At best, electing a centrist will delay the inevitable. At worst, the centrist actually makes things worse in a new and unexpected way.

Maybe we should create a Degentrification Society. The idea being that we would get together and do things that’ll drop the property value in the rich/bougie areas, with an emphasis on spaces that were stolen from the poor. If the rich can steal parts of the society from us, there’s really no reason we can’t do the same back.

Hey, tumblr. You need to go out and watch In Time. It’s the anti-capitalist movie you’ve always wanted. It’s set in a future society where people stop aging at 25, but from that point forward are dependent on a timer in their arm to live. If that timer reaches 0, they die. You earn more time by working, but inflation and wage fuckery leave everyone living 1 day at a time, except for the wealthy elites who have thousands of years and are functionally immortal.  The entire movie is about how evil the system is and how to destroy it. It’s a scathing rebuke of capitalism that shows how it literally kills people every day. 

If you think I’m one of the nice liberals that’s willing to put up with conservative bullshit and have a friendly debate where I try to change your mind through talking points, then you’re in for a rude awakening. I’m not a nice liberal. I’m a confrontational anarchist. I’m not here to hold hands and change minds. I’m here to fuck shit up and piss you off. I want you uncomfortable and angry all the time. I want you to be upset about what I said a week from now. I’m the thorn in your side. Why? Because fuck you, that’s why. Maybe if you’re uncomfortable and upset long enough, you’ll learn to change.

When I was 2/3, one of my favorite things in the world was watching skateboard videos. As it was 1988/89, these videos featured hardcore punk for the soundtracks more often than not. While my mom would turn the sound down, I was still introduced to bands like Bad Brains, the Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, Wasted Youth, and other influential, anarchist, and heavily political bands from the 80s.  Of course, I don't remember any of this except through short flashes and bursts, but I've heard many stories about it from my aunt and mother. Even though I do not remember this, it still massively influenced me. When I rediscovered it all 18 years later, it was like returning to a long lost friend. It had a huge impact on my political views. 

I will always hold that hardcore punk is the reason I have any political views at all. They taught me not to simply accept things as they were and that they are often far worse than portrayed. Because of DK, T.S.O.L., Bad Religion, and a dozen other bands, I said "Fuck you" to standard politics and sought out my own views outside of the two party system. Because of them, I am a Social Anarchist. 

I blame punk rock for my interest in politics.
