As much as I love the imagery of the Dark Lord falling down and dying like any ordinary man

…You know what I love even more?

Think of what they did with his body.

Imagine Tom Riddle’s grave sat next to his Muggle father’s in the Little Hangleton cemetery, not because he deserves a grave but because he’d be rolling in it if he could.

There is no immortality. There’s no tomb ‘worthy’ of the greatest Dark Lord in extant history. Just an unassuming, generic tombstone bearing the words:

Tom Marvolo Riddle 31 Dec 1926 ~ 2 May 1998

And that’s it.

Because Voldemort will be remembered first as a bad dream, and then not at all.

okay but if Tom Riddle used the Chamber of Secrets doesn’t that mean that he would have to take that slide down? did he scream? did he go “weeee”? or did he just lie there emotionless as he slid down the pipes?
