Even children get older And I’m getting older too
What’s always struck me about the scene in the third gif there is that it’s breakfast. Emma and Henry leave the diner so she can walk him to the bus stop. Henry’s got what looks like either pancakes or waffles, and Emma’s dipping crinkle-cut fries in ketchup.
So now I have a bunch of questions. Does Granny’s normally sell fries at breakfast or did she make them special for Emma? Are fries regular breakfast fare for Emma (kinda like hash browns) or was it one of those “omg I’m back in a place with real food, I need fries now!” situations?
Because it definitely seems like this was someone’s deliberate choice. Henry has breakfast food, they verbally set the scene as breakfast, and yet, Emma has French fries, which is typically more of a lunch/dinner side. I mean, I kinda love how it’s not at all explained but at the same time, why are you doing this to me, Once?
(Also, and not at all related to the above point, I will forever love Emma’s actual *headdesk,* hee.)
I’m sure I’ve reblogged this before, but I just noticed something:
When Mary Margaret enters the station, Emma’s first reaction is to move the bear claw slightly behind her. Her first instinctive move to someone new entering is to protect her food.
That is both hilarious and sad, all at the same time.
