If Destiel is ever made canon this is how I  want it to be portrayed, almost everyone has this idea that if Destiel becomes canon the writers are going to have to add Destiel smutt every few episode to show how much they love each other and I think that is so wrong, to my understanding sex is  more of a random activity to Dean just a tool used to get off, I don’t think love and sex are connected to him, if Dean where to show Cas that he loved him he would touch Castiel’s fingers, caress his face, and hold his hand in public all displays of Dean’s vulnerability 

^that comment is perfect and also exactly what Destiel is to me

It wouldn’t even have to be a big deal. They already look at each other adoringly and are emotionally intimate, just stuff like this, touching each other’s hands in the background, little touches that aren’t the focus of the scene, just gestures to show that they’ve reached the point where they acknowledge and are open about their feelings for each other.

And a 2 kisses for good luck every season would be pretty great too, Dean leading the first one and Cas the second.

It was so close for a heart-stopping second I thought Cas going to take Dean’s hand to heal him but instead his palm hovered and they both seemed, uhm, moved by the gesture. Where is @7faerielights so we can yell about how Regency-Victorian-repressed romantic trope this DEAN AND CAS ALMOST TOUCHING LONGING TO TOUCH NOT TOUCHING NOT LOOKING AT EACH OTHER BUT STEALING GLANCES NONSENSE IS.

I’m here! And omg YES! That was straight out of a Brontë novel. Cas’s hand hovering over Dean’s, each of them peeking at each other surreptitiously. Then their hands just inches from each other on the bowl. That whole thing was pur Victorian melodrama.

Just had a vision about 15x09

...Dean and Cas in Purgatory. They find the Leviathan Blossom (or whatever). They're on their way back. Dean's leading. He stops just in front of the rift (which, side note, looks more like the alternate dimension rift than a Purgatory door) and hesitates.

Cas asks him if something is wrong. Dean, struggling to find the right word(s), reaches out for Cas's hand, palm up. Cas takes it, gently covering Dean's hand, as if Dean's hand were supporting Cas's as they step across the rift's "threshold." Dean finally says, "This time... Don't let go."

Cas smiles a small smile, the smile he reserves for only Dean. He says back "only if you won't either" (or something along those lines).

Their hands stay joined as they cross back over into the bunker.

Please pay particular attention to the way their hands join thumb to finger as if completing a loop, a sort of symmetry in their touch, and the way Dean slows his hand and stops pulling it away as Cas’s hand reaches for him so their fingers and thumbs can connect so neatly

(And how Cas is already behaving way off usual but Dean still trusts him to DO this)

And and and so soon after Kelly took Cas’s hand to transfer the power to him and THAT was visually and obviously creating a connection and a power that flowed through touch

And I’m getting meta here on the post that was just my “presented without explanation but a lot of swearing” venting box but ARGH.

I would like to take a moment - obviously this is slowed down noticeably in the 2nd - just to ruminate on how Dean’s touch goes gentle and relaxes his hand against Cas in that Soft™ way before he pulls his hand away.
