So if I were to take away from this moment something deeper than “man Sevika's a freak”, I'd point out that we've seen the same tactic not long before.

What does this say about Caitlyn? She's fighting dirty. She's fighting like a cornered rat. She's fighting like a Zaunite.

And first of all there's hypocrisy. Caitlyn's been calling these people animals and monsters and whatnot but when placed in an identical situation she responds identically. Case in point: getting so mad at Jinx for terrorizing people out of grief that she goes ahead and starts to terrorize people out of grief. Sevika's expression afterwards is mostly “joke's on you I'm into that” but there's some surprise there too — you wouldn't expect that move from a Piltie.

Then there's desperation. Because she needs revenge; she needs it or she'll never ever forgive herself for what happened. So she'll throw away her morals and her dignity and just do whatever it takes to achieve the goal, whether it means chomping on someone like a feral raccoon or becoming a military dictator… which puts her in the same mindset as Zaunites, all of whom are desperate to survive and a lot of whom could never afford morals and dignity in the first place.

The fact that Caitlyn finds out about the ventilation system her mom made to help the zaunites have clean air because she thought that they deserved to breathe, and Caitlyn immediately weaponized that against them?Simultaneously demonstrating the dark path she is heading down while also implying that Cassandra would not approve of the path her daughter is going down.

Maddie being introduced as this literal ray of sunshine and then being the first to beat along to Piltovers turn to martial law. Her interactions with Vi mystifying her as “one of the good ones.” One of the good Zaunites. She was always discriminatory toward Zaunites, they just didn’t make it overt at her introduction. The turn to fascism and discrimination can start with anyone. Including a literal ray of sunshine.

Viktor just went from being some guy to my all time favourite Arcane character. Funniest possible direction they could’ve gone with him. Every fuck in his mind body soul was spent and gone when he emerged from that goop. Woke up purple from a near death experience and immediately dumped his situationship, quit his job, fucked off to the undercity wearing nothing but a blanket and then became the second coming of Christ on accident. King of protecting his peace. Imagine being that guy who tried to shank him. Some Czech twink with dick and balls hanging out starts glowing and then magically cleanses the poison from your body. I’d be on my knees worshipping him too man what a fucked up situation. Someone please get him some trousers

NOT SEEING ENOUGH PEOPLE TALK ABOUT JINX'S LITTLE FOUND FAMILY AND HOW PERFECT IT IS THEMATICALLY!!!

Specifically what I want to highlight is how Jinx found the two most important parts of herself that she lost in Sevika and Isha.

In Sevika she found a new Vi, a new older sister figure. She cannot fix things with Vi, she understands that, but her relationship with Sevika is something she can fix, and she can mourn Silco with Sevika in a way she and Vi could never mourn Vander together.

In Isha she found Powder, the person she once was who she can't be anymore. In many ways Isha gives Jinx the opportunity to protect and love Powder in the way she always wished others would do for her, quite literally Isha heals Jinx's inner child.

Yes, exactly! I see people saying Sevika has replaced Silco in Jinx’s life, but Sevika has always been VI’s narrative foil. Seeing her becoming Jinx’s new big sister (whether she likes it or not) is so satisfying.

I agree completely about bonding with Isha giving Jinx a way to heal her inner child, and I also think it allows Jinx to posthumously bond with Silco by finding herself in the same position he did: caring for a lonely, abandoned child, despite never having imagined herself being in such a position or caring for such a person. (Isha clinging to Jinx in ep 3 feels like a deliberate callback to Powder clinging to Silco back in season 1.) Silco may be dead, but he isn’t gone.

I also speculate that narratively, Isha symbolizes not just Jinx’s inner child, but Zaun itself. And I speculate that by learning to care for Isha, Jinx will also learn to care for the people of Zaun who will be looking to her as a leader. The image of Jinx brandishing a flag in the new opening suggests we will see her transform from nihilism—wanting to see it all burn—into someone with something to fight for.

Jinx has never been an idealist, but she has always loved and longed for family. If Zaun becomes her family, then she’ll never be alone or unloved again.
