I was curious since where I'm from, temperature is measured with the thermometer in the armpit and it seems to be the norm here. However, reading sickfics and watching mostly English-speaking media I've noticed thermometer in the mouth is the common image. In other countries, depiction varies and I know there's other places to measure temperature from.
So I made this rolly-polly✌️

A sick person coming home after a long day at work. They want nothing more than to collapse straight to bed. Unbeknownst to them however, their lover had decided to surprise them and is waiting on said bed.
Cue sickee just dropping tired on/beside their lover, not even noticing, and alarmed caretaking ensues♡

Emily became aware of the unmistakable sound of sniffling and shuffling in somewhere in the room. Also, the bed felt notable empty.
"Hosuh?", she opened her eyes to confirm that her boyfriend was indeed not beside her. Alright, he's probably just using the loo.
She could settle for that if it wasn't for a sharp smash echoing from the hallway. Now random nightly activities were to be expected when one lives in a shared flat with five others, but Emily's curious nature still managed to pull her out of bed and into the common lounge/kitchen to investigate.
She sneaked around the corner and was faced with a rather tragicomic scene. Her boyfriend, an adult, crying over literal spilled milk. Or maybe the broken cup.
