Bruce Timm on Superhero Fan Outrage: “They’ll watch just to complain.”
There is something interesting I’ve seen over the past month. Age of Ultron is getting a lot of flack for basically stopping the climatic action sequence to ensure that we see that civilians are saved literally every minute, with a lot of the main points being "We got it the first couple of times, we don't need constant cutaways". Admittedly, I consider myself a part of that group, but the filmmakers seem to have gone way too much to the opposite end of the spectrum to ensure they didn't get any criticism and are getting criticized for that. It is weird, but the weird backlash against the Man of Steel destruction issue that has been going on for 2 years now has caused literally every major blockbuster to come under a major microscope.
