Thoughts on The Hateful Eight
FUCKING FANTASTIC ALL AROUND
The cast and acting of this film is extraordinary, in particular Demián Bichir, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Samuel L. Jackson who is award worthy, especially during a monologue that I will not spoil, but OH MY GOD.
SEE THIS IN 70MM. It is so worth it.
Ennio Morricone's score is honestly one of his best and that is saying a lot.
Tarantino's direction+Robert Richardson's cinematography>>>>>
I think Tarantino is the only guy who can get away with doing a premise like, have the movie be over 3 hours, have hardly any consistent violence (BUT when violence does happen, oh man is it bloody) but mostly dialogue and still make it extremely compelling.
My only real negative is when they would do the non-linear structure/flashbacks like Tarantino is known for, it wasn't done as swiftly.
