Casting The Comedian and Dr. Manhattan as Batman and Flash’s dads in the DC Extended Universe is fucking genius.
So can we just take a moment and continue to praise the casting folks behind the DCEU?
DC Entertainment president and chief creative officer Geoff Johns confirmed the casting in his first interview discussing his new role overseeing Warner Bros.’ movies based on DC Comics characters.
He declined to comment on whether Deathstroke has a cameo in “Justice League,” which is currently shooting in London.
HELL YES.
BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE
In about 17 hours, I will be in the theater ready to watch Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice in 70mm IMAX. To those on here lucky enough to see it tonight as well, may Jor-El be with you.
That January 19th DC special will be the first time it really dawns on me (no pun intended) that the DC Extended Universe is going to be a real thing.
Why I say NO to a Batman/Affleck standalone movie.
NOPE!!! Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. No. I’m tired of it. Tired of the standalone Batman movies. I want more than just Batman this and Batman that. I want other superhero standalone movies. I got no beef with Affleck (if you think it’s because I’ve got something against Ben Affleck? You’d br wrong about that. Never did have an issue with him. I actually really like Ben. I think he’s gotten an incredibly bad rap because news media can be a monstrous dick. The man hasn’t won enough awards to choke a small army for nothing). I got no beef with Johns. I do, however, got a massive beef with DC not bringing “IT” to the table. “IT” being movies that could be amazing on their own. For instance a Starman movie? Zatanna movie? Batgirl movie? Batwoman? Cyborg? Flash? Green Arrow? There are so many other amazing heroes out there that they could really break open and bring to the public. I get that Batman makes money. I get it. I really do. But I’ve had enough. And I LOVE Bats. You know I do. Everyone who knows me, knows I do. But dammit. This is oversaturation. It’s like Marvel with the Wolverine movies. It’s too much. There’s not enough variation out there. So I wish, and pray that Affleck and Johns, if they are mighty in their venture, would bring us some different movies of different heroes. Maybe that could be the silver lining to all this. Then I could say yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.
You DO realize that movies like Wonder Woman and Aquaman are coming out BEFORE this right? And how is it “oversaturation” when this won’t come out in 2018 or 2019? And you know what IS oversaturation? Iron Man appearing in 8 films since 2008 WITH THE SAME ACTOR. And there is so much in this post I can debunk, but I don’t have the time nor do I care.

i like how the rock called black adam an ‘antihero’ which means we’ll either get another great complex and layered villain or at one point black adam could turn to the heroes side.
Geoff Johns is playing a big role in mapping out the rest of the DCCU and I love the way he writes Black Adam as a more complex character than a straight up villain. I think this the route they're going for him.
