According to Edgar Wright, the flavour of the cornettos featured in the unofficial ‘Three Flavours Cornetto’ trilogy represents the motif of that film. The red or strawberry flavour in Shaun of the Dead represents blood and zombies, while the blue/original flavour of Hot Fuzz represents the police force. The green/peppermint of The World’s End represents science fiction and extraterrestrial elements.
“I realised after two weeks of hanging out with Nick, I really, really like this guy. It was like a romance blossomed between us." - Simon Pegg [X]

It sucks that Michelle MacLaren left Wonder Woman. Really sucks because she really was a perfect choice, but this is almost like standard Hollywood stuff. I’m glad this isn’t like the Edgar Wright/Ant-Man situation where it happened 2 weeks before filming. Shit, this could turn out to be a good thing in the long run. If WW was a true standalone movie, you can guarantee that WB would have gone with anything a director said with some compromises along the way. In today's hyperconnected/post-MCU continuity laden superhero landscape, making the movies requires a TON of compromise from filmmakers who may consider themselves as artists and universe builders in their own right. Sometimes studios and directors don't see eye to eye on projects, and it is always good when they realize that early and part ways instead of waiting till the last minute. Who knows? Maybe her vision was underwhelming as hell I.E. Wonder Woman in space.
WB still has time to find a replacement and lock them down to this particular vision. Personally, I still hope WB is going after a female director and not a male unless they get a REALLLY talented male director. Like Alfonso Cuaron level. Nothing against my fellow males, but WB is really trying to give more diversity towards their blockbusters and hiring a male would be a PR nightmare for them unless, like I said, they get someone really talented. My suggestion? Jennifer Kent.
Now, I await the “WB HAZ NO PLANZ!!!!!!!!!” posts.
We didn’t waste any time. We hit pub one and we hit it hard.
