This tiny little rascal is a Tufted Coquette (Lophornis ornatus), found in eastern Venezuela, Trinidad, Guyana and northern Brazil. The males are beautifully decorated with large, red crests on their heads and tufts beneath their throats, which they use to attract the females. At no more than 7 cm long, these little hummingbirds are sometimes mistaken for large bees when in flight.

Wandering Violin Mantis (Gongylus gongylodes)
Also known as the Ornate or Indian Rose Mantis, G. gongylodes is a species of empusid mantis that occurs in southern India and Sri Lanka. Like many other mantids G. gongylodes practices aggressive mimicry. Disguising itself as a stick or piece of bark and catching/consuming any insects that wander to close.
Gongylus gongylodes (like other mantids) has also become fairly popular in the pet trade.
