TW discussions of death.
Tails was robbed in Forces. Which, I know. Understatement of the century and everyone’s talked about it. This is the same Tails who had beaten Chaos and gone toe to toe with Eggman by himself. And yeah, his cowardliness was so out of character.
But that’s not what I’m talking about here.
What I’m talking about is how they could’ve gone so hard into Tails watching Sonic die in front of him. And, more importantly, they could’ve done some amazing character parallels.
Because we have a character who watched their older siblings who was mainly associated with the color blue die in front of them. Shadow.
Imagine how much better Forces would be if we found a Tails who wanted to completely, utterly, annihilate Eggman. A Tails who has turned to anger just like Shadow did. Imagine that being the reason Tails had left. He wanted to kill Eggman and the others didn’t want to do so immediately.
Tails. The only person who can go toe to toe with Eggman intellectually. Imagine him deciding that maybe violence is the answer in this case. We’ve seen how he as a person is entirely capable of pretty extreme violence in Nine. Imagine that happening in Forced.
The parallels between Tails and Shadow are already there and I know people have mentioned it, but no where are they more prevalent than in Forces. They could’ve done so much with it.
Imagine a scene between Shadow and Tails where Shadow acknowledges how similar their situations are? Shadow comforting Tails? Ugh. They could’ve done so much!
… the brain worms took over. I’m 9k words into what is shaping up to be a rewrite of Sonic Forces where Shadow and Tails replace Rookie and Classic. Also Sonadow is in it. Because I’m writing this for me.

Imagine everyone thinks it’s the original reason, until halfway through when tails shows back up in the plot with his own mechanical army and just starts tearing through, and everyone’s main response is
“Oh.
…OH.”
You. You see my vision.
Imagine that’s why he was trying to fix Omega.

Kestrelflight’s official design is so pretty
I’m screaming. He’s got the Finnish mutation.
Spoilers for Sonadow generations (you can pry that name out of my hands)

Planet Wisp Act 2 is the worst level in any Sonic Game (excluding 06 and Rise of Lyric since those just don’t work). It’s just. So long. So awful. It’s just. Bad.
"xyz DNI" blocking people is YOUR job, sorry. You cannot ask the world to simply move around you, you have to take control of your online experience or you will be fucking miserable forever. Most people don't read your bio/pinned/carrd before touching the posts that cross their dash anyways.
Also maybe worry less about if someone who likes something you hate clicks on your tumblr post. I promise it is not that fucking serious.
Also-also if you have this DNI because your friends/moots said or implied you have to otherwise you're somehow Bad and/or will be punished by them if you don't, that's kind of fucked and maybe you need less controlling friends.
I know you feel ethically helpless on this bitch of an earth but I promise you, telling people with certain fetishes or god forbid media interests not to interact with your posts is doing less than nothing to make the world any different, but it IS stressing you the fuck out to be worried about if the clicks you get on the internet are coming from someone who likes to imagine The Wrong Fictional Characters kissing.
For the love of god, shipping is not that fucking important. I promise you, whatever the fuck you think you know about someone based on what they ship can be determined by the shit they actually do in the real world about real things that actually happen.
Media consumption is not activism and fandom is not the battleground upon which Ethics And Morals will live or die. It is playing pretend. Please please please get some perspective
can’t imagine living in a world where authors aren’t allowed to explore darker themes and topics through literature
if every book i read had only characters that spoke and acted like they’d been attending tumblrs school of therapy for their entire lives i’d throw myself off a building
Fact: Darkstripe is the character who suffered the worst crit fail in the history of the warriors books.
He’s coming home after committing espionage and treason by acting as a spy for a clan already at war with them. As he’s coming home, he finds out there was a witness from his home clan. Whoops! He decided to silence her.
Pros of this plan: it will be easier to get away with this because the witness trusts him and will be easier to trick. Cons of this plan: that’s because she is a baby.
So, he decides he’s going to kill the baby. Okay. He grabs some highly toxic yew berries and convinces her to eat them. She does. And that’s when it just so turns out that the clan leader had just been out hunting in the same part of their territory accompanied by his best friend and the kid he’s mentoring. He was killing a baby in view of the cops’ donut run. And not only that, but— and here’s the fun part— the head of this squad of cops knows very well what toxic yew berries look like. Why?
Because he has been close personal friends with literally every healer in their clan since he was a child. The first one was his childhood crush. Second one his adoptive grandma. Third and current one he used to tutor when she was young and now they are essentially coworkers.
Also the baby made a full recovery from her poisoning and Darkstripe died with 0 friends by the end of the book. That bastard’s dice were against him real bad
I swear, the Erins try and make the fandom hate on Mothwing and Berryheart even though those two are right.
I feel like there's been a concerning amount of "Berryheart is right" sentiment going around like no actually I think people should be able to fall in love without it being illegal 😭😭 like she's right about certain things (Tigerstar caring more about his family than the Clan, Nightheart being kind of flaky, etc) but her main point is still just xenophobia 😭😭
Yeah she’s a racist who is basically fighting against mixed couples and who is out here committing actual war crimes. Berryheart is not a good cat
Ah yes, space yaoi. My hyperfixation for the past 2 years. I'm so glad that you fueled the fire that made me like this.
You are welcome 😏
halloween is approaching! i think it'd be neat to see your take on zim & dib's costumes, assuming they'd be willing to celebrate :)
