I was editing a chapter today and noticed that I accidentally recreated a dynamic and scene in the Irish Problems rewrite similiar to the original.

Only much, much better in all regards, which is why I wanted to share.

Context: Both scenes take place after the Irish met with the Sicilians. In the old version, Harry had some uncomfortable one-on-one time with Michele, while in the new one, it was literally just a normal business meeting. In the first version, Harry feels rather repulsed by Michele, but in the second his feelings are a lot more ... ambigious.

Old Version (ca. 2013)

“And if we don’t come up with something good soon, you just give him the runaround” Charlie suggested with a wink which was answered by Harry through a dumbfounded stare before he turned to Paddy: “Can you believe that guy?!”

But much to his dismay, the older man looked like he was actually considering it as well.

“You can’t be serious!” he hissed, the other tilting his head and scratching his chin again:

“Until this deal is through, no one is shagging anyone here for whatever reason!”

Paddy collectively cockblocking Harry and Charlie as well as Michele, Marco and technically Lorenzo at once. Old man knows how it’s done XD

Now that this is said, the difference between these is HUGE. Like after reading the first version I was like “Yeah, I know this one. Bit of 15yo teen humour but expected.” and the new version has an entirely different vibe even though the scene itself is not trying to get a different plot across. Very excited for the rewrite!
