Moonlit Dances

A/N: Hey, Ge'tal!!! Sorry this took so long. This is just a smol little Codywan fic with a twist of that series I'm writing: Ethereal (pt. 1 here). Enjoy! Send requests please!

Moonlight seeped into the room through the huge windows, bathing the tiles in a silvery glow. Obi-Wan cracked his knuckles with a sigh, moving to sit by the piano. He ran a hand over his cleanly shaven face for the millionth time, wincing at the unfamiliar smoothness of it. He’d finally shaved his beard off to match the length of his hair, which licked at the back of his neck tauntingly.

He placed his fingers on the keys of the piano, breathing in deeply as he relaxed. He pressed his pointer finger down on a C, closing his eyes as he began to play. The music floated effortlessly from his fingers, the melody increasing as he played.

When Obi-Wan came down from the climax and played the ending, he felt someone rest their chin on top of his head, arms wrapping around him from behind. “Hello, cyar’ika,” a voice murmured in his ear before a kiss was placed on his jaw.

Obi-Wan tilted his head back to gaze into Cody’s eyes, smiling wildly upon seeing his Commander. He reached up to play with the black wisps of hair growing over Cody’s forehead. It was still funny to see Cody in clothes and not armour, but Obi-Wan loved it.

“Hello, darling,” Obi-Wan replied, pecking his lips softly before standing up from the piano carefully. He stepped to the radio, turning it on with a smile. As the soft violin and piano music danced in the air, Obi-Wan reached out to grasp Cody’s waist. “Dance with me?”

A blush coated Cody’s cheeks as he glanced around the room before nodding. “I don’t know how to dance,” he admitted quietly as his General moved his hand to rest on his shoulder. Obi-Wan moved them gently, smiling at his lover.

“Then I shall teach you.”

Cody wasn’t sure what they were doing, or if it was even a dance. What he did know was that he loved Obi-Wan’s smile when he anticipated a step, his laugh when he messed up, the hum he let out when Cody began to understand. He loved everything about Obi-Wan.

The moonlit room seemed to be trapped in time as the song continued on and on and on, providing solace to the two men. Cody moved to rest his chin on Obi-Wan’s shoulder and he closed his eyes, breathing in the familiarness of his General.

There was something about dancing in the moonlight together that pulled the two closer, as though more of the strings connecting them were being sewed. Cody felt at peace as he moved with Obi-Wan, anticipating each step subconsciously and relaxing as it continued.

When the music finally wound down, Obi-Wan moved to press their foreheads together, kissing him softly. He murmured the three words Cody had heard often, but would never get tired of hearing.

They continued to dance in the silence, the moonlight the only song they needed.

A/N: ANOTHER PIECE OF WRITING THATS ANGST, BLAME @transmascanakin!!!!!!! @techs-goggles9902 not the trope but im tagging u cause u said u like to be tagged! Send requests please people! Enjoy!!!

Anakin numbly made his way to Obi-Wan’s side, who gave him a wry and worried smile. “How are you?” The older asked. The question used to be simple, it used to mean ‘how are you feeling?’ or ‘how have you been since I saw you last?’ Now it meant ‘how have you been holding up?’

“Okay,” Anakin replied lightly, glancing at the corridor behind him. It had been almost half a year since Ahsoka had left, and it had clearly taken its toll on the brunette.

Obi-Wan gave him a sympathetic smile as they headed off to their troops. They were being deployed to capture a Separatist base - one that was supposed to be weak and an easy task to overcome.

Alongside their troops, Obi-Wan and Anakin found themselves outside the Separatist base, watching the guarding battle droids carefully.

“Anakin and I will go in and scope it out,” the ginger explained. The brunette nodded half-heartedly.

“We’ll come with you, General,” Rex replied, gesturing to himself and to Cody. The Jedi nodded and the four of them set off. It didn’t take long for them to find their way into the base, silently navigating the labyrinth of corridors. But the silence was interrupted when they turned a corner to see a squad of droids, clutching their sizzling electro-staffs.

Immediately, Anakin was thrown into the fight. His lightsaber clashed with the staff and he heard the Clones firing at the droids. He caught a glimpse of Obi-Wan as the older was thrown into a wall. He fell to the floor limply.

“Master!” Anakin cried out, moving to stand in front of the ginger’s body, only to be thrown away. He struggled against the droid, before his head hit the floor and he fell unconscious.

When Anakin woke up, he was surprised to find himself in the corridor still, Cody and Rex by his side. But, someone was not. “Where’s Obi-Wan?” He slurred, shuffling to sit up.

“Damn droid took him,” Cody groaned, sitting up too. The pair helped Rex, who grunted from the pain. Anakin grit his teeth. Great, now they had to go find and rescue Obi-Wan.

The trio set off into the base in search of the Jedi, Anakin guiding them as the pull towards his former Master strengthened the closer they got. He tugged on it every now and then, getting increasingly worried when the tugging wasn’t returned, the string limp.

Eventually, turned a corner - quickly eliminating the battle droids in the corridor - and spotted a cell. Anakin lunged forward, deactivating the ray shield and entering. He almost blacked out when he saw the person inside.

It was Obi-Wan - that much was clear - but his hands were bound behind his back and he was sitting on a ledge. His head was hanging forward limply, but Anakin could already see blood in his beard and bruises on his face. His cream robes were coated in blood, and any exposed skin was blue and black.

Anakin rushed forward - gagging slightly as bile rose in his throat. “Obi-Wan?” He whispered, tilting his brother’s head up with trembling hands. A shrill scream rang through the cell and Anakin stumbled back.

Staring back at him were the white of Obi-Wan’s usually gleaming blue eyes. They stared at him, empty and emotionless, a void.

They’d killed him.

Obi-Wan was dead.

And Anakin was alone.

Tunnels

A/N: @transmascanakin this is for you, since I know you miss them so much! A tiny bit of Codywan! Please send requests people, I'm desperate!

Anakin shuffled closer to his former Master’s side as the tunnel ahead seemed to swallow them whole. The pair stood at the gaping entrance to a cave system that supposedly led right under the Separatists' base. Both the 501st and 212th’s troops were collected behind them, Cody and Rex murmuring worries to each other softly.

“Well, this looks cheery,” Anakin chirped, grimacing lightly as he moved his lightsaber in an attempt to illuminate the tunnel more.

“Quite,” Obi-Wan shot back, and somehow his sarcasm seemed even stronger than Anakin’s. The brunette looked instinctively to his other side for his Padawan. Usually she was by his side, or by Rex’s. Now, he remembered she was back at the Temple catching up on her studies.

“Let’s get going,” Anakin decided bitterly, signalling to the troops to follow him as he headed into the dark. Obi-Wan followed by his side, glancing around.

“This seems too simple,” Obi-Wan worried and Anakin rolled his eyes subtly. “Surely the Separatists know of a tunnel system right below them. It’s quite hard to miss.”

“The data we have suggests these tunnels are unstable and abandoned,” Anakin reminded him. “They removed them from newer maps as a precaution.”

“Still,” Obi-Wan continued, but didn’t speak any more. Instead, the men travelled underground in the dim area, time escaping them.

Anakin chewed on his lip as he turned another corner. He shivered as his body reminded him of the cold air they were surrounded with. Then, abruptly, specks of dust fell from above in clouds. Anakin coughed, waving at the cloud blindly.

“Retreat!” He yelled, realisation engulfing him. “Out! Get out!”

But he was too late, as the boulder in the roof above them collapsed inwards, separating both him and Obi-Wan from their troops.

Both men spluttered and coughed, brushing dust and dirt off of their faces. “Anakin?!” Obi-Wan called, blinking furiously as his eyes watered painfully.

“Right here, Obi-Wan,” Anakin managed weakly. He was collapsed by the tunnel wall, cradling his leg with a pained grimace on his face. Obi-Wan fell to his knees and scrambled to his brother, eyes widening as he saw the blood pooling around the brunette. “Leg got knocked.”

Obi-Wan cursed, activating his comm. “Cody? Commander, are you there?” He pleaded with the comm, glancing up for a moment in quick, silent prayer. Obi-Wan wasn’t much of a prayer, but now, in this war, they needed all the help they could get.

“Right here, General.” Even through his pained gaze, Anakin could hear the underlying fondness Cody spoke with, only to Obi-Wan. Anakin could hear the same tone when Obi-Wan spoke to his Commander. “Are you alright?”

“Anakin’s injured,” Obi-Wan hurried, glancing at the unnatural way his brother’s leg was bent. “We need a medic, fast.”

From the other side, Anakin and Obi-Wan could hear faint, muffled coughs and the sound of scraping. Cody’s voice came through the comm once again. “The boulder won’t move.”

Obi-Wan grit his teeth, stepping back. He outstretched both hands, calling the Force to his aid. The invisible energy wrapped around him like a gust of wind, and pushed the boulder with it. The boulder didn’t even budge, even as Anakin joined in.

It wasn’t moving, now or any time soon.

“We’re not keen to use rocket launchers with the unstableness of everything,” Cody explained further, and he too sounded anxious. “Have you got your lightsaber, perhaps you could cut through it?”

Obi-Wan grinned, muttering something before glancing around for his weapon. His briefly hopeful expression fell when he couldn’t spot it. He ignored Anakin’s scoffs as he grabbed the brunette’s lightsaber instead.

Activating it, a small part of Obi-Wan’s unease melted away, soothed by the comforting blue glow. He basked in it for just a moment, closing his eyes for merely a second to breathe. He plunged the blade into the rock, grunting as he pushed it further in. But the rock was solid and strong, and he couldn’t even get the whole blade in without too much strain.

“See anything on your side?” Obi-Wan huffed into the comm.

“Nothing, sir,” Cody replied and Obi-Wan groaned in frustration.

“Alright,” Obi-Wan decided after a moment. “We’ll wait here, set up camp perhaps. I’ll scout the tunnel ahead, see if I can see any light.” He paused, before remembering. “Is my lightsaber there?”

Cody didn’t respond immediately, the sound of faint voices echoing through the comm. “Yes, sir.” Cody replied, slightly exasperated. “We’ll try to move the boulder, you rest.”

Obi-Wan didn’t protest any more, knowing Anakin needed his attention. He turned to the brunette, who was biting back tears, almost literally. The ginger settled next to him, examining the injury, although he refrained from touching it. “Looks broken,” he murmured, concern lacing his words like silk. Anakin grunted. “Really?!” He snapped. “I thought it was just a scratch.” Obi-Wan raised a brow and Anakin sighed. “Sorry.”

“No need to apologise,” Obi-Wan whispered, reaching up and running a hand through his brother’s hair once, scratching his scalp soothingly before standing up. “It’s not bleeding too bad.” It was true, the wound had stopped bleeding. “I’m going to go look at the tunnel ahead.”

Anakin sat up abruptly, blue eyes wide. “No, please!” The older turned to him, an eyebrow raised in confusion. “Stay.”

Obi-Wan was about to protest when he locked eyes with the younger. Pain and frustration swam blue in Anakin’s eyes, but not just those. There was a sense of loneliness and desperation too.

“Alright,” he murmured, settling down beside him. “Just for a few minutes.”

Anakin leaned against him, head dropping to rest on Obi-Wan's shoulder. His eyes fluttered shut contently, a soft sigh escaping his lips. Neither moved, warm sleep capturing the brunette. Obi-Wan smiled, wrapping an arm around his brother.

They would be alright.

Requests, please!

Love y'all!
