My favorite photo I took of the faceless ape
For the design of the KawaiiMermaid120 Vtuber, I based the design off of those very crude chibi anime girl drawings.
It was also heavily based off a paper cutout my sister made when she was younger.
Unfortunately can’t find the specific style name for the crude anime look.
For the design of The Virtual Vessel from Pongo Labyrinth, I designed it to kinda be a blank slate with no hair and no discernible facial features. Its design is also supposed to be kind of a caricature of some Vtuber designs with very pale skin and odd proportions. Another design choice was to have it have no lower half and have the armature/wires visible. This was to give the idea to the viewer that something was wrong and you weren’t supposed to look behind the screen/persona. Also to give it a robotic look somewhat
For the Encephalon Leech from Pongo Labyrinth, I based its design somewhat off of a baboon skull
For the Faceless ape from Pongo Labyrinth, It’s design was heavily based on an illustration by Heinrich Leutemann of a normal orangutan drawn back in the late 1800s.
Another design choice for the faceless ape was to lean harder into the uncanniness as it’s not a real ape. Specifically with textures on the faceplates and hands. As well as removing fingers/toes on the hands/feet and having the nostrils facing the wrong way.
