That Title IX investigation is in reference to, “Three eighth-grade boys [who] are accused of refusing to use a student’s chosen pronouns.” Nick Bohr, a reporter for WISN 12 News, shared that the student whose pronouns were not respected uses they/them pronouns. According to Lora Zimmer, a Title IX attorney, “Discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, based on gender identity, is prohibited under federal law – that schools are obligated to take action. It’s not a choice on their part whether to allow discrimination of this type to happen. They’re required to take action.”
TL;DR - A Wisconsin middle school was investigating three students for gender based discrimination when they wouldn’t use the correct pronouns for a classmate. That school district has now received 5 bomb threats protesting the investigation.
Respecting someone’s pronouns is the minimum amount of respect we as human beings afford each other. When your response to, “not respecting someone’s pronouns is discrimination,” is FIVE BOMB THREATS you are a horrible person. Full stop.
