if you hate the canon dansen wedding venue feel free to blame me because apparently I somehow manifested it several months ago

very glad I sneaked onto this bandwagon in time to get in on round 4 of the @supercorpzine – this fandom was inevitably in my periphery for a WHILE before the social isolation of 2020 finally pushed me over the edge

Recently Cancelled TV Shows With Queer Representation

With an onslaught of anti-queer legislation and attitudes rising worldwide right now, I can’t help but notice a LOT of queer shows have been unceremoniously axed or conveniently wrapped up at this time. I figured I’d make a list of the shows and the networks they aired on. I’m sure I missed some so feel free to add on.

4400 (The CW)

The Baby-Sitters Club (Netflix)

Batwoman (The CW)

Charmed (The CW)

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (The CW)

Dollface (Hulu)

First Kill (Netflix)

Gentleman Jack (HBO)

Good Girls (NBC)

Julie and the Phantom (Netflix)

Legacies (The CW)

Naomi (The CW)

Roswell, New Mexico (The CW)

Rutherford Falls (Peacock)

Saved By the Bell (Peacock)

The Wilds (Amazon Prime)

Honorable Mentions (shows that ended or are ending with a proper final season, but are still gone)

Derry Girls (Channel 4; Netflix; after a third and final season)

Grace and Frankie (Netflix; after a seventh and final season)

Killing Eve (BBC America; BBC Three; after a fourth and final season)

Love Victor (Hulu; after a third and final season)

Never Have I Ever (Netflix; after a fourth and final season)

Riverdale (The CW; after a seventh and final season)

Supergirl (The CW; after a sixth and final season)

Even though it was cancelled last year, I’m mentioning Genera+ion (HBO Max, WB-Discovery) because in August HBO Max took this show off their service. And because it was an HBO Max exclusive, you can’t watch it anywhere now. So that’s crummy. Not just cancelled, but erased from existence.

Finally, not a TV Show but Batgirl (HBO Max, WB-Discovery), which was set to have the biggest piece of trans representation in a superhero movie to date.

Can’t help but notice that most of these shows seem to belong to WB-Discovery in some way. The CW, HBO, and HBO Max are all related to that company.
