Okay, I've been thinking about this and thought I'd ask Tumblr:
Random Genderfluid Thing #969
Okay, now I REALLY need to find a gender neutral version of sir/miss because kids at the school I work keep calling me, “sir.”

I can’t think of a good gender neutral equivalent to “sir” and “miss”.
I personally dislike latinx cause there's literally no way to pronounce that thing, there isn't any words ending with x on the spanish language so it always looks out of place :/
The most used term is latine, and most gendered words are transformed with the -e ending.
This is great to know! Thanks! :D
I have seen backlash against the term latinx as a gender neutral term for folks it would otherwise apply to. I want to be respectful so let me ask: is latine the preferred gender-neutral term (as opposed to latino/latina) or is there another word I should be aware of? As a genderfluid blog I try to use gender-neutral terms as often as I can so please, let me know.
if you see a gender neutral term you dont like youre actually allowed to just elect not to use it and move on, yall know that right?
like are yall aware that approximately 0 people are holding you at gunpoint and demanding you go by joyfriend or ren or mx or whatever? its actually free and easy to just go “oh, thats not for me” and then not use the term
“just call me a slur!1!!” Or just. don’t use it? Allow your day to day life to remain fully unchanged. Mind your business lmao
I’m still on this tbh like Remember when that teenager came up with the word “joyfriend” because the term “partner” felt too formal to them and y’all became so incensed at the idea of a teenager having fun with their identity that they had to put out a message begging people to stop harassing them? Like I stg y’all see will someone being queer in a way you think is cringe and lose ur fucking minds
Also if you’re in the tags being like “well I think these terms are stupid and I hate them and I would die if they were used for me but it’s okay if other people do!!1!” This post is about you lmao.
Clothes have no gender. Wear whatever you like and makes you feel good. 🏳️🌈

I don’t know if there’s a good gender neutral equivalent to, “sir,” and, “miss”. Mx. is more an equivalent to Mr. and Ms. while I use, “folks,” to address crowds of people, but I can’t thing of an individual thing like, “sir,” or, “miss”.
whats a gender neutral word you could use for your spouse? wusband?? hife?? wifesband?!?!?
Honestly when it comes to spouses I don’t hear combined words so much as alternatives like spouse, partner, “my sweetheart”, stuff like that.
I’m having a gender crisis. I’m afab and my gender is queer/neutral and my femininity fluctuates. I want to use Demiflux, but Genderqueer, Nonbinary, Gender Neutral, Genderflux, and possibly Neutrois fit me just as well. I keep switching between these labels because they all seem to fit so well. I feel happiest with Demiflux, Genderflux, and Neutrois though I’m not sure which is best. Help?
Hey there! At the end of the day, it’s less about which definition you fit perfectly & more which feels like the best choice for you. Your identity shouldn’t be a prison you feel trapped in, it should be liberating. And if you decide on one identity now but later you think another one fits you better, you’re totally allowed to change it. It’s all about what you’re most comfortable with in the moment. I hope this helps. :)

(Image description: four images in pink, yellow, and orange shades. The text on the images reads: "Lesbians who prefer gender neutral pronouns are wonderful. Lesbians who prefer neopronouns are wonderful. Lesbians who prefer he/him pronouns are wonderful. Genderqueer and nonbinary lesbians are wonderful.")
Alignment chart of gender neutral titles for you and your partner(s).
Obviously, the best term is the one I created, guilefriend.
Pros:
It mixes guy and girl making it as unclear about my gender as I feel
It speaks to my devious nature
I sound like the Chaotic Neutral Rogue I am
Cons:
Absolutely none
I am not taking any questions at this time. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
Random Headcanon: Link’s androgyny isn’t just an artefact of the Zelda franchise’s art direction - and neither is it particularly unusual. Sexual dimorphism among Hylians is legitimately much lower than among real-world humans; if Link and Zelda swapped clothes, you’d never be able to tell who was the girl and who was the boy.
Consequently, Hylian society depends heavily on clothing to establish gender roles, to the extent that it’s a severe faux pas to question someone’s gender presentation. If they’re dressed like a girl, then they’re a girl - even if they were dressed like a boy yesterday. That’s why nobody ever remarks upon the fact that Zelda and her heroic alter-ego Sheik are different genders; it’d be gauche at best to bring it up.
Good post op
explains why i can be banned from gerudo town, change clothes in front of the guards, and then be welcomed with open arms
shit, this absolutely provides an explanation for it that isn’t just “lazy game mechanism” and is honestly such a solid demonstration of how people should approach genderfluidity.
doesn’t matter if the first time you met the person they presented as male, if they present as female now that means they’re a woman and they’re welcome into gerudo town no questions asked
Also, Link and Zelda 100% do swap places often and you can’t tell me otherwise.
“Princess Zelda, Ganon has made his way into the kingdom! What should we do?!”
“HYAH”
Holy shit this is a good fucking post and additions thank you OP and company

If any of my followers believes that “brain sex” is a rigid and well defined category check this out
I actually did a study on this in my freshman year of university!
I had to give a ten minute presentation on gender and a) how it’s different from sex, and b) whether or not there’s such thing as a “male” and “female” brain.
I found COUNTLESS studies supporting the idea that the brain itself is unisex- there is very little, if any, difference between “male” and “female” brains, with one exception. I’m by no means a neuroscientist but this is what I understood from this particular article: there’s this tiny part of the hypothalamus (a small part of the brain) that has neutrons in it, and the number of neutrons varies. HOWEVER, when the brains of cis men and women and trans men and women (who had not taken hormones for years prior to the time of death) were studied, it was found that the cis men and trans men had almost identical average neutron counts, and the cis women and trans women had almost identical average neutron counts. So if you’re DMAB but realize at some point that you’re a trans woman, as far as your brain is concerned, you ARE a woman! The same goes for DFAB trans men (intersex/nonbinary individuals weren’t studied, unfortunately).
TLDR; Your brain doesn’t care what you were “born as”, only what you really are!
I’m currently reading a fantastic book that goes through and debunks old studies that “find evidence” to support gender roles. SPOILER ALERT: they were all poorly done studies and their evidence is unsupported bullshit.
a pretty good read and a good source
NEUROSCIENCE DEBUNKING GENDER ESSENTIALIST SHIT YESSS
As someone who is a few months away from a degree in psychology and biology I can tell you that hard, black-and-white binaries hardly exist in either of those sciences. Putting things into clear-cut categories is 100% a human society thing, not something that actually exists in nature or in the human brain.
