“For your information, I can smell camembert in my sleep. It’s only one of my many talents.”
– Plagg, S1 Ep. “Stormy Weather”, “Miraculous Ladybug” (AKA “Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir”) by Zagtoon.
Adrien Agreste’s little kwami Plagg (the name purposefully reminiscent of “plague”) can always be found munching on, or drooling over, Camembert cheese. It's also the perfect food to replenish his energy after transforming Adrien into Cat Noir via Adrien’s ring Miraculous (or to bribe Plagg to help Adrien transform in the first place!).
Crescent-Wrapped Camembert
1 Soft Camembert Round 1 Tube Crescent Dough 1 Egg
Preheat your oven to 350*F. Open a container of crescent dough, unroll the dough, & separate it into 2 squares, sealing/pinching the perforations within each square. Lay 1 square on a non-stick pan & place a circle of soft Camembert cheese in the center. Use kitchen scissors to cut the corners off the dough, leaving at least a 1 1/2" edge around the cheese. Lay the 2nd dough square on top of the cheese round & cut these corners off as well. Smooth the dough down the sides of the cheese, & then press & smooth the bottom dough up. Vigorously whisk an egg & brush it over the dough.
Use the excess dough to make the paw print (the symbol of Adrien’s ring Miraculous)—basically an inverted, rounded heart w/ 4 beans—& the ring around the top—simply roll & stretch a few segments of dough & attach them to the top edge—plus the 4 points on the left & right, overlapping the ring. Brush these pieces with egg also.
Slide the pan into the oven on the middle rack & bake for about 20 minutes, or until the crescent dough is a nice golden brown. Remove from the oven & let cool for a few minutes, & then transfer the wrapped cheese to a serving plate. Serve with pear & apple slices (Granny Smith is great), & a sharp knife to cut the wrapped cheese into thin wedges.
