Sunshine bear is almost done!! Just needs the hand sewing and the face. This is my first time making this pattern using fabric that isn’t super fluffy and I’m really happy with it? It’s not exactly a traditional teddy bear pattern but I like it

Sunshine bear face options! I had intended to add a little muzzle patch of a contrast color like I did for the berry bears and the stackable bear, but I think this fabric works well without it

I’m leaning toward the first eye option (felt) but I like the idea of the button eyes? Which eyes do you think I should use?

My friends and I have been playing Ace Attorney recently, and it’s made me think about my personal head canon for Phoenix drinking grape juice during the 7 year gap.

There are a lot of great takes on this detail, but mine is that the grape juice bottles he drinks from are, well, bottles. Bottles with sealed the industry standard tamper proof lids. Which isn’t unique to grape juice by any means, but I do find the fact Phoenix takes to drinking from beverages that are made to showcase evidence of tampering during a seven year stand-off against a known poisoner. 

Especially given his history with poisoners in general.

Personally, I account some of the grape juice habit to those tamper seals. Not because they work, per say, but because Phoenix has such a traumatic history around poison, and that level of paranoia could lead to wanting reassurance that you’re not about to join the “Atroquinine poisoned party.”

We don’t really see Phoenix really deal with any aftereffects of all the traumatic shit he went through, so this is my little HC to how that impacts him now that is also canon compliant.  Sure, it’s not the real reason (just a joke) and it’s looking too much into things, but isn’t that what headcanons are for?

TLDR: Part of the reason Phoenix drinks grape juice is because the tamper proof lids give him some security about being poisoned due to his trauma with poison. 

Miles Edgeworth does not ride on elevators. It is perhaps this reason that he is the first to notice that Phoenix Wight does not drink from pre-opened containers.

It is something he notices after the man is disbarred, when he forces him and his daughter to let him buy them dinner. The restaurants Edgeworth chooses aren’t too fancy for Wright to object to price, but they are nice enough to have attentive waiters. It is during these meals, Edgeworth noticed that Wright never drinks from the glasses of water provided. Instead, he asks if they have bottled grape juice instead. Or soda in a can. Or a bottle of water.

“I just don’t like drinking from the tap,” Wright says when Miles chides him about wasting plastic. “Bottled tastes better.”

Edgeworth is not a living lie detector. He has no magic rock to expose secrets or a keen eye for tells. But he knows Wright. And Wright has never turned down a glass of tap water at Edgeworth’s house during his trips to Europe.

He doesn’t press the issue. He does, however, take notice when Phoenix orders a soda and doesn’t take a single sip when the waiter brings it back in a glass. When Wright pours out a half drunken grape juice bottle he left unattended at work to use the bathroom instead of finishing it off, Edgeworth notices that too. The water bottle Wright used to carry around on his bike is absent these days as well.

Edgeworth can connect dots. It is his job. Wright will not drink from anything that could have been tampered with. Given his history and the devil currently stalking him in the shadows, perhaps his paranoia is somewhat warranted.

He thinks what to do about it for a few days. Edgeworth thinks back to years of Wright taking the stairs with him instead of the elevator, telling anyone who asked that “he skipped leg day and I’m forcing the Prosecution to join me.” That unspoken acceptance of “this scares you, so I won’t make fun.”

After thinking about it, he takes the Wright family out for dinner. When Wright orders a soda and receives an open fountain drink, Edgeworth takes it instead and asks the Waiter if they have any canned soda for him because “it tastes better.” The waiter looks at him annoyed, which Edgeworth understands, but does it anyway. Edgeworth makes a mental note to add an higher tip and a thank you in exchange for their trouble.

Wright stares at him from the time he orders the can until he places it on Wright’s side of the table. He has that same expression he used to have in court when Edgeworth caught him off guard. Edgeworth missed it.

“Edgeworth-“ Wright says, voice thick. Struggling for words. Little does he know, Edgeworth doesn’t need them. He shakes his head.

“It’s no bother,” Edgeworth says, looking to Trucy who is twelve and about to outgrow her pink cape. “You said you have learned a new trick, Ms. Wright? Please tell me more, I must keep informed about slights of hand criminals may try to pull in the Courtroom.”

Trucy giggles. “It’s not slight of hand, it’s magic!”

Wright watches them talk, shoulders relaxed, as he opens his sealed can of soda.

John Boyega has been accused of everything from being a pervert, sexual predator, black brute who was fixated on white women and who was obsessed with Daisy Ridley and who wanted to get into Daisy Ridley’s pants.  And many people in fandom repeated this rhetoric and spread it around and believed in it with no proof or evidence. And with Daisy Ridley only ever expressing that John has been a good friend to her.

Yet Daisy Ridley giving interviews expressing her appreciation for the friendship that she has with John, didn’t stop some people from a particular fandom to believe in the allegations that they were spreading about him. Even to the point of declaring themselves the “protectors” of Daisy, stating how they were concerned for her safety and well being around John and that she needed to stay away from him or that they needed to get her away from him.

He has been accused of being a threat to Daisy and this same fandom has often spread around the rhetoric to try to paint him as  a man who had abusive and violent tendencies.  As some spend a full year trying to convince people that he was a threat to the safety and security of women in some form.  

Many either repeated or believed in these accusations without any solid proof or evidence.  And without Daisy Ridley ever saying anything about John being a threat or danger towards her or making her feel unsafe.

Now that  Adam Driver has actually had a woman come out and accuse him of violent/aggressive behaviors, some in this very same fandom who were quick to believe the accusations against John that didn’t have any solid proof or evidence. Are now saying that they need more solid evidence before they are willing to believe the 76 year old woman who accused Adam Driver of violent behaviors on set.

And then there are others who are rushing to say that this woman is just lying on Adam and that she is looking for fame or just wants to ruin his career.  This is more clear evidence of racism reflected in fandom.  Some of those who were eager to make John Boyega out to be a predator or abuser (Not caring about how this unproven accusations would impact his career).  Are now clutching their pearls asking people not to rush to judgement.  As they are worried about Adam Driver being “Canceled” or his career being impacted in a negative manner. 

As those who are quick to believe that the black man is some violent threat towards women, are now saying that they can’t fathom the fact that their white fave can be capable of the violent or aggressive behaviors that Adam Driver is accused of. 

Fandom racism is those who expressed “concern” for Daisy Ridley’s safety around the black actor when she only has let it be known that he is a good friend to her.  But, then quickly dismissing the woman who has spoken out against Adam Driver.

On top of which, I’ve heard Boyega speak out about the unfair treatment of his female coworkers, especially Kelly Tran, even when he knew it meant he would be attacked on social media. I have never heard the same out of Driver. (Actually, I’ve never heard Driver make a statement about anything at all.)

The man WHO ACTUALLY STOOD UP FOR WOMEN is being accused of violence against them. The man who stayed silent to protect his career—or perhaps because he neither noticed nor cared—is being defended.

I just find it a bit ironic that when y’all accused John Boyega of preying on Daisy, y’all just went with it. Didn’t even need Daisy herself to say anything, y’all were that sure John did something to her. And when others pointed out that Daisy didn’t say anything y’all seem to have understood the idea of women not expressing their discomfort around men for various and personal reasons. Especially in work environments

But when the 70+ yr old Portuguese actress mentioned Adam’s unprofessional and terrifying display of actions on set?

“She just HAS to be suspicious and HAS to have some ulterior motive. Why didn’t she mention this earlier? Why didn’t she leave? Why won’t she talk about this more?”

Hey, so they’re making a Netflix Harry Potter.

With that in mind, we’re all gonna remember that JKR is a terf who has literally been cited by legislators engaged in legislation that actively harms trans people, and we’re not gonna give her any more money.

That means not streaming the new show on Netflix, because regardless of how much influence she has on the production, she gets paid for it.

We’re gonna make the show flop. We’re gonna show Warner Brothers that we don’t forget (of course, how would we forget, it isn’t as if she’s stopped), and that their business association with terfs is no longer profitable.

It is NOT like Lovecraft, because Lovecraft is very dead and his works are in the public domain. By consuming Lovecraft media, you are not giving any money to old Howard.

I’m an autistic adult who was a little girl crazy in love with the Harry Potter series. I’ve come to an understanding that not only is supporting it bad, but much of the source material—the attempted HIV/AIDS parallels, the attempted racism parallels, the antisemitism, the way the house elves were pulled off…—was actually bad. It hasn’t stopped privately holding a place in my heart, privately enough that I feel weird posting this. I think other people who relate to it in that private way need to understand. We’re not giving JKR money today. Without having seen this TV series yet, there’s nothing to have latched onto. There’s no reason not to stay away. Bundle up and reread your books if they’re comfort material, but we’re not looking at the show on Netflix even to hatewatch. If we pirate it, we’re not making gifsets or w/e and building other people’s interest in watching. No one is emotionally attached to the Harry Potter Television Show™ fandom yet, and it’s entirely within our power to keep it that way. You don’t need to watch it. Notice how more and more places seem to be platforming JKR now that she’s an active transphobe? Notice how last time we all got mad at her they ran all 8 Harry Potter movies on television, like, within the week? Just reread your old books and don’t watch. You’re not attached yet. There’s no reason. If you want to see new interpretations of the characters, I highly recommend ArchiveOfOurOwn or fanfiction.net for that.
