Hello, fellow Inuyasha enthusiasts! We’ve recently received several anon asks in our inbox and will be posting a long response to those concerns in order to keep things simple. The questions are not verbatim, but have been condensed to keep things clear and concise.
» An artwork nomination in the past was nominated for Best Canon, but it’s based on an AU fic.
That’s okay! The work is nominated by the nominator’s preference. For example, even though the artwork was based off of an AU fanfiction, the work may appear as though it could be canon, and thus the nominator may feel as if that piece fits in the Canon category. Remember, each piece is nominated by the fans, not by us, so it is up to the fans to determine which category they believe the work should be placed in.
» I thought only one artwork could be nominated for each category per person?
Correct! Each quarter, every person is allowed to nominate one piece of art and fanfiction per category as long as slots are available in that category. This does mean that an artist or author can have two different pieces nominated into the same category, as long as they were nominated by different people. But remember, each artist/author is allowed a max of four nominations per quarter (2 different pieces of work can be nominated into a max of 2 categories)
» Next time you post the nomination banners, can you post them as photos? When it’s attached in a text post it shrinks and the quality drops.
We can definitely review this for when the time comes for this quarter! Most often, the nomination banners can be collected on our Nomination page for that quarter, so that all those who have been nominated can collect at their convenience.
» I can’t find the nomination banners for the last quarter. Why don’t you keep the nomination page updated with all past nominations and their banners?
The Nomination banners are only available for the quarter that they are given for. After the new quarter begins, the Nomination page is refreshed for the new quarter. If you had a work nominated in past quarters and were unable to collect your nomination banner, please reach out to one of the mods and we’ll be happy to send you your banner. In order to keep the page clean and easy to understand, the Nomination page will only be updated with current nominations. If you would like to browse what has been previously nominated, feel free to scroll through our page or search for a certain quarter. There is also no rule regarding re-nominating a work that has been nominated in the past but did not win in that category.
We hope this answers your questions! As always, if you have questions or concerns regarding nominations, the voting process, or rules & eligibility, please don’t hesitate to reach out! Keep those nominations coming! ★
