As a mod-team, we actually reviewed past nominees for the Best Completed Category, and there have only been two One-shots nominated into that category over the past two years, which wasn't many at all. However, we do believe your concern is valid, and thus have updated the Best Completed Fiction definition to as follows: A story with multiple chapters that will no longer be updated and should be listed as ‘complete.’

Thank you so much for the ask! As stated before in this ask, no one is allowed to ask others to nominate their own pieces during the Nomination Period. However, everyone is absolutely allowed to celebrate the fact that their piece has been nominated.

The moderators keep an eye out for any activity that may violate this rule. Stating, "These are my pieces nominated, so feel free to vote for them if you enjoyed them," is not a violation of this rule. In that aspect, the nominator is only celebrating the fact their pieces are nominated, they are promoting their own hard work, and they are promoting FeudalConnection. They are not intentionally asking people to vote for their pieces "because they want to win". They are asking in a way that gives the readers/voters a choice to not only perhaps enjoy the nominator's work, but also to maybe find another piece within the list of nominations that they may enjoy.

If there are certain posts or users that you are particularly concerned about, we please ask for you to bring it to our attention; whether that be reaching out to one of the moderators privately, or sending in another anon ask with specifics. Sometimes generalized asks don't give us enough information to work with in order to address an issue.

These awards are not run based on "who is friends with the mods more". We don't decide who is nominated each quarter, you guys do. We don't decide who creates and puts work out there, the creators do. And we don't decide who receives an award each quarter, you guys do. These awards are designed to bring love to creators all over the net and show them our appreciation. This is a fandom-run event. The mods simply gave it a structure for the fandom to use to show admiration to the masses. Every single person has the ability to nominate an adored piece of work and vote on it.

If you are concerned about there being issues with the moderator team, please reach out to one of the mods independently, someone who you are okay with speaking to. Although we are a mod-team, we are all separate people and have varying degrees of participation ourselves within the community. We don't want anyone to feel as if they cannot confide their concerns in us without receiving retaliation. This is an inclusive event, and we don't want anyone to feel as if they're on the outside looking in.

If you think this looks easy and straight forward, then that means the mod-team is doing their job! We're so happy its such a pleasant experience for you!

There is quite a bit going on in the background. The Nomination Period is by far our busiest time, as we have to sift through every nomination that comes through (this quarter alone we had over 275 nominations!) We have to verify time frames, category compliance, winner bans, etc. Then we have to construct the voting form, monitor the voting period for anomalies, as well as analyze winners for each category.

In the midst of all of this, the mods also lead their own lives, and cannot always be readily available to assist in the process. But regardless, we absolutely love this event and will continue to bring it to you as long as the community desires it!

You can see the full list of nominations here (on desktop). Please look through that to see which authors/artists have 2 works nominated and have been nominated a total of 4 times. Those are who are capped for this quarter.

If you're still not sure if your nomination is valid, please send it in anyways! The moderators will do their best to verify all the nominations as they come in. If the creator has been capped, the mod-team will be sure to let the nominator know as soon as possible!

Yes they do! There are a few ways you can collect your nomination banner. 

The current quarter’s nomination list will include the nomination banner on our tumblr page, free to be collected by anyone nominated. 

If you are looking for a past nomination quarter, you can either reach out to one of the mods, email us at [email protected], or collect it from our discord channel. If you need the invite for the discord channel, just let us know!

Absolutely! The Nomination page will be updated as soon as possible! This will override the previous nominations. However, whenever you search our page for #fc nominations or search the specific quarter, you will still be able to look up previous nominated works. Hope this helps!

Unfortunately, we’re in the midst of checking the submissions we receive and there is still a lot to process, between checking if the works are still valid or not and if they have been already nominated, etc...However, if you have a question about one specific submissions, you can check the official page and contact one of the mods in charge for help!
