A ½ review of X-Men: Apocalypse (2016)
A bloated, horrifically overblown and pretentious slog of a film, X-Men: Apocalypse announces yet another nadir for the X-Men franchise, with any semblance of fully realized characters or a comprehensible plot thrown asides in favor of a sludge of increasingly overdone CGI VFX, and a monumental waste of the talents of it's cast. It's a film that grinds along, creating a slurry of increasingly disinterested and incomprehensible events, amounting to much sound and fury, but in the end signifying absolutely nothing at all. From the very beginning it's clear that Bryan Singer is just not the right choice for the

My favorite X-Men trivia is that when X-Men: Apocalypse was released in Poland, audiences burst out laughing throughout all the Poland scenes with Magneto, because the movie!Polish was so hilariously inaccurate.

Review: X-Men: Apocalypse (2016)

Well, this is certainly a right honorable mess of a film.

Bryan Singer continues to prove that he has no actual directorial skill in this ninth entry in 20th Century Fox’s lumbering, inept and overblown X-Men franchise, that also continues to confirm that 20th Century Fox has no understanding of the franchise either, simply slathering on more bad screenwriting, more dodgy effects, and more overblown melodrama with no sense of heart or emotion beyond a cold, cynical effort to desperately keep the X-Men out of Marvel Studios’ hands.
