I learned here that there can be no true despair without hope. So, as I terrorize Gotham, I will feed its people hope to poison their souls. I will let them believe they can survive so that you can watch them clamoring over each other to stay in the sun. You can watch me torture an entire city and when you have truly understood the depth of your failure, we will fulfill Ra's al Ghul's destiny... We will destroy Gotham and then, when it is done and Gotham is ashes, then you have my permission to die.

Gotham is yours! None shall interfere!
Alright, let's be honest. It's been five years since Nolan's finale to his genre-defining Dark Knight Trilogy first hit screens, and, when compared to the previous two entries in the trilogy, this one not only pales in comparison, but is, quite simply, a bad film period.
Sprawling, overblown, over-complicated yet undercooked, and a story that is best described as 'confusing', The Dark Knight Rises shows Nolan struggling to reconcile the varied plot threads laid forth in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, while trying to craft a story that can also stand on its own. In the end, he ends up stumbling over himself, and the film feels disjointed, unfocused and sluggish, playing out like a drunken elephant.
That’s a beautiful necklace. Reminds me of the one that belonged to my mother. It can’t be the same one, her pearls are in this safe which the manufacturer clearly explained is uncrackable.
The Dent Act allows non-segregation based on extraordinary need. First time she broke out of women’s correctional she was sixteen.
I’m adaptable.
You made some mistakes, Miss Kyle. A girl’s gotta eat.
