A ★★★ review of Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019)

While not as focused as the first MCU Spider-Man entry, Spider-Man: Far From Home is nevertheless still an entertaining - if distracted - entry in the mammoth franchise, as Peter Parker (Tom Holland), fresh from returning to the world after the events of Avengers: Endgame, tries to find a place for himself out of Tony Stark's shadow, as he's taken on a European trip with his class, and meets the charismatic Quentin Beck (Jake Gyllenhaal), who seems to be a new mentor for Peter. But all is not as it seems, and soon, Beck reveals himself to be less admirable

A ★★★ review of The Avengers (2012)

In many ways, The Avengers has so firmly cemented itself as a cultural touchstone, that reviewing it is an immensely difficult task. After all, who hasn't already given it a frame-by-frame, line-by-line breakdown, meta analysis, or thesis paper on the various aspects of it. And yet, for all the adoration and praise this film has gotten, I've always had strangely mixed feelings about it. Is it enjoyable as pure entertainment? Yes, I'd say so. Is it cathartic to see the character's we'd come to know so well over the course of Marvel's ambitious Phase One finally come together and kick
