A ½ review of Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
A consummate disaster of a film, Age of Ultron is a bloated, pretentious, hopelessly confused film, one that seems so doggedly locked into it's own self importance that it utterly fails to provide worthy contributions to the broader MCU, and at times, does active damage to the broader universe, through director/writer Joss Whedon's complete misunderstanding of practical all the characters involved. Throughout the film, Whedon seems to act as if none of the events outside of The Avengers ever actually happened, as characters seem to have either completely stopped developing, or actively gone backwards. There’s nothing you can do with the only female Avenger that’s not going to be troublesome in some way because that’s what it is to give only one window. No matter what you’re seeing through that window it seems in some way unrepresentative because, I thought to myself: what would have happened if they had swapped her out with any of the other stories in this movie? But if she had Tony Stark’s story there would be a sense of ‘of course she’s the one who screws up and causes all the trouble’. If she had Thor’s story it would be that she disappears in the middle of the movie and doesn’t show up again until the end. If she had Captain America’s story it would be the ‘keep everyone’s behavior in line/behavior cop’ story. If she had Hulk’s story it would be that she can’t control her superpowers, can’t control her feelings. If she had Hawkeye’s story it would be her being conflicted about work/life balance. No matter what story it is, if there’s only one it’s going to annoy me on some level I want to see more of those stories told.

Spoiler Heavy Review: Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)

Okay, so if you're wondering how I was able to see the movie, I found and downloaded a nice camrip of Age of Ultron, in order to see if it'll be worth my time and money.

Now, if you don't want any spoilers, or simply wish to form your own opinion on the film without anyone else's opinions influencing your own, I totally respect and understand you. That being said,  this review is going to be heavy on spoilers and my own opinion, so I don't want to see anybody complaining about spoilers here.
