❄️ Made some wintery mittens for my kiddo (wintery for Australia). Adjusted sizing from the book I've picked up from an opshop to fit children's size and the yarn I had on hand. Thought I'd share the pattern - it's good for smaller hands, child or a small adult. I have petite hands, and they fit me pretty nicely.

Added some links to the techniques used in the pattern to this file: Instructions with useful links ❄️

🎒 Made a little backpack for a toy fox. May be I should have one of these human size? Too cute

I've used the pattern for the acorn body/ nut and leaf from here

But I was a little too tired to work out the acorn hat from the same tutorial (even though it's super neat), so I went along with this simpler video tutorial. Had to add a couple of decrease rows in the end to make it fit to my acorn.

Added some lining too hehe

But yeah, super happy.

🐱 Cosy Kitty Cat Slipperoos  🥿

Have been thinking where else I could applique the granny square kittens I’ve discovered last year. Hehe

If you want to make your own pair:

> Super easy tutorial for slippers [knitting pattern on etsy]

> The cats [insta carousel]

> I’ve added whiskers for the cats and tassels at the back ‘cause I can

> Also, if you have tiles or or other slippery surfaces at home you might want to think of adding some soles. I’ve got some suede pieces that I’ve attached with a blanket stitch. The first pair I’ve made and wore the whole winter started wearing out on the soles becuse of carpet and friction. So pretty much, add soles no matter what.

Meow all!

My summer hols makes (may be inspo?):

🧶Granny square mittens [tutorial] I’ve added small charms, may be they’re cute? idk

🍵🐱 If you happen to read this in Melbourne, Australia (who knows?) there is a super cool place in Elsternwick called Glaze it where you rock up and paint any bisque-fired item they already have on hand (and it’s lots that they have!) They glaze it for you and do the final firing. Too much fun! My mug was ready in two days for a pick up, and it’s a rocket blast in ceramic terms.

🪴Hanging macrame pocket and a long thingie to house my mother air plant and her babes [tutorial for the pocket]

🕯️Candle with beeswax leftovers and a thrifted tea cup. Slurpy-slurp!

🪡 I had a million of short-ish yarn pieces from various projects I’ve accumulated in a few years. I’ve tied them all together, made a massive ball and crocheted a small pillow for my bottom. The back is also made with leftover fabric pieces, and i’ve filled it with my wool felt snippets. Gee, I’m very thrifty.

🧣 What if you saw this red scarf in Babylon Berlin and wondered if you could make one yourself.

I think it’s darn cute and I have one myself, and it was super easy to make.

I’ve used the free Miss Marple pattern, but I do wonder how this vintage one would turn out also. It looks very similar.
