The 29-year-old will become the 14th Time Lord on the popular science fiction show, and the first person of colour to play the lead role.

He told BBC News: “It feels really amazing. It’s a true honour. This role is an institution and it’s so iconic.”

“That was a big cut, this one, from Episode 13. It’s like a whole minute-long scene of…from the end on Bad Wolf Bay, the Doctor giving the second Doctor the chance to grow his own Tardis. We argued over this, and part of me still wishes it was in. There’s so many complicated endings and so many complicated emotions, it did just throw you in the middle, when they suddenly start talking about a new Tardis. I like to imagine this still happened, though. So one day, we’ll come back and put this one back in.”

Doctor Who Advent Calendar —Day 10: Talk about the Christmas spirit!
And when people come to you and ask if trying to get to me through the people I love! is in any way a good idea, I want you to tell them your name.
Clearly I’m not going to be able to sleep until I get this down, so here’s a brief list of things that I love (and that make me sad) about Donna Noble:
•Absolutely no romantic interest in the Doctor and totally blunt about it.
•The saddest ending of any companion ever, I will fight on this.
•She was absolutely self-confident, and yet she had so little self-esteem. An inspiration to everyone who feels that they are unimportant— you don’t have to let that make you meek.
•Less screentime than literally any other companion. (The closest runner-up, Martha, also only had one season, but she had several guest episodes. Also, Martha was the main companion of almost all the episodes in her season, unlike Donna, who shared with other companions or spent most of the episode offscreen for over half her season.)
•Kind. Donna was so, so kind, even when she wasn’t good at it. Doing the right thing was less important than doing the kind thing, to her.
•She was always at her least funny when she was trying to make a joke. #relatable
•The first companion (at least in New Who) to recognize that the Doctor needed someone to be with him and keep him sane.
In conclusion, Donna deserved better, thank you for your time.

Annual Wilf reblog.
I kinda love Wilf
its been 13 years and im still not over how the ninth doctor’s idea of a good first trip for his new companion was to take her to see her planet blow up at a celebratory party
And then they had chips.
Natasha’s mission: To spy on Fury and the KGB agent he’s captured and been interrogating.
Clint’s mission: To mime out the entirety of the viral “octopus&puppy r 2 cute 4 words” video he found during lunch.
I’ve wanted an excuse to draw Catherine Tate’s ridiculous faces for ages, and finally did it with Clint. I didn’t even BEGIN to do Tate justice, but it was a barrel of fun, so have a Doctor Who reference~
