This is my submission for the Monsters and Dames annual art book that will be available at Emerald City Comic Con 2019. It will also be my first time visiting Seattle so I am excited!
I wanted to use a monster from Filipino folklore as my inspiration, so I chose the Manananggal.
I hope it’s not too weird lol. It’d be awesome if it made it in the book.

Fjord is finally done!
The last leg of sewing the eye and sword barnacles was filled with self doubt about the colours, but the white lines finally tied it all together. I’m so happy with him!

- the standard price will be for a full body image of a single character, which will be £20 (≈$26). each additional character will be another £8 (≈$10).
- if you want just a half body/waist-up image of a single character, then it’s £15 (≈$19)! each additional character will be another £6 (≈$8).
- i’ll draw most characters, canon or OC, i’ll draw you, i’ll draw any other real person, whatever you’d like, but…

this was my final project for a history course I took this past semester. I had no idea how physically tiring (and painful!) making a comic with 100% traditional art was (cutting screentones! not easy!), but I’m very happy to have had the chance to make it.
a note: 同志社, Dōshisha, is the name of the university. In Chinese, though, 同志 has the connotation of “gay (person), homosexual”
Lala is a term similar to the English “lesbian”
The dialogue of the people at the women’s meeting is quoted from Queer Women in Urban China by Elisabeth L. Engebretsen
