I went winter coat hunting yesterday because I was in the city and full of coffee.

Here are my results!

Red - Alannah Hill - $565 - Adorable but I'm now over the age of 10 so I think this is out.

Orange - Cue - $440 - Uninspiring for the most part, love the shoulder detail.

Yellow - Jigsaw - $499 - I absolutely fell in love with this one. I want it ever so much. Stupid price tag.

Green - David Lawerence - $279 - This one is also stunning, the photo doesn't do the shade of green any justice what so ever. Great trench.

Blue - Review - $349 - This had scalloped edges which were sweet, no sure the cut suited me though.

Purple - Portmans - $169 - Quite fond of this cape, silver buttons always a win.

Mandatory Black Leather Jacket - Hunt no more - $329 - I don't think I'm really cool enough to pull this look off, but I must admit I like the results.

Houndstooth - Seduce - $159 - 60s cut, so of course it worked. Very cute.

Black glamour coat - Forever New - $129 - Fitted beautifully, probably a little too glam for me. Might work without fur collar thing.

Light grey - Cue - $550 - Stunning coat but it didn't really grab me by the throat and insist I buy it like many of Cue's offerings do.

This is amongst the most vain posts I've ever put up, but I was having such great fun yesterday pulling faces. Also rainbow of coats ^____^

I had such a busy, busy week/weekend.

*Baking rainbow cupcakes for Heidi's Tea and Cakes party on last Sunday, I love the IH group. They're intelligent and hilarious and I'm lucky to be friends with such people. Heidi made so much excellent food; teacakes and cream cupcakes and cherry chocolate tarts! Also what she called a "Gardener's Sandwhich" which was an ingenious vegetarian twist on the "Shooter's sandwich." It was Mediterranean heaven!

*Hammond got back from America and came to visit on Monday public Holiday, there was pizza and deep chats about hard to talk about things. Also incredible Absinthe and Pear Brandy! I missed Hammond!

*Cooked Muffins and Chicken Casserole on Tuesday night to put in a care package for Moose! I heart seeing her regularly again :D

*Caught Wunderkammer by Circa at The Judith Wright Centre. Tender, sexy, funny and astounding Acrobatics show I recommend everyone should see if they ever get the chance. Two men did a 4m high pole-dance set to classical music that was slow and beautiful and really incredible. They'll be in Berlin for the next few months.

*I dyed my fringe turquoise late on Wednesday night and hated it. (See apprehensive look in photo.) By Thursday evening I was digging it and now I really like it. So I guess that's a positive turn around.

*Thursday evening we flew down to Sydney after discovering I had booked our flights for the wrong month. Total cock up on my part and I didn't have adequate funds to bail us out, so Matt to the rescue. So lucky to have a boyfriend who puts up with such idiocy.

*Upside; we may be able to transfer next months flight booking to Melbourne for a super secret special event ^_______^ I'm also attempting to 'win' a couple of nights accommodation at the mystery artists' hotel initiative run by Melbourne tourism called the Lost and Found Hotel. That would be pretty rad.

*We caught up with the Sydney crew, it's always good to see Joaby, Jae, Luke & Tenielle etc. I got to know Fi and Heath a little better as well, which was neat, also some guy called Dean who no one introduced me to... :P

*Chai chocolate logs from Haighs Chocolate! Droooleriffic! Another amazing Chocolatier Queensland misses out on :(

*Had a brilliant meal out on Friday with Hex(Steph) & (Scarlett)Jen at Cafe Sydney (after a quick drink & tasty polenta at Madame Fling Flong's). We had this amazing balcony table complete with harbour view. There was wine, delicious mains all followed by sumptuous desserts rounded out quite nicely with much laughter and engaging discussion. Such wonderful people!

*We also had a few drinks at Freaky Tiki in Newtown. I am so hipster right now.

*Matt got drunk and was adorable. I know a lot of partners who are long suffering with this but it happens so rarely to me that I kind of enjoy taking care of him when he's all swaying and silly.

*I visited Kinokuniya Books for the first time ever. So much information and beauty and litreature. Needless to say I was overwhelmed and fell in love. Pining after a thousand books I'll never even have the chance to read.

*Saturday was spent at Sydney Supanova, which was enjoyable. Catching up with Sydney people and even some other inter-staters. There were some brilliant cosplays around as well as some hilarious ones. I think Sydney has more joke cosplayers and Brisbane has a larger number of high quality ones. (no offence Sydney, I quite enjoy your lulz!) I got an adorable My Little Pony bow as well!

*We kept going back to the Westfield gourmet food court, which was fucking brilliant. I would really like one in Brisbane, I am so sick of going to food-courts where there is really only one or two healthy/vegetarian options. If any at all! Yogurt and toasted museli, berry smoothies, Thai vegetarian cashew noodles, macarons, fig and honeycomb gelati, vege dumplings!

*We played a lot of Articulate.

*On Sunday I visited my Great Uncle Gordon who I hardly know. I've wanted to know him a little better for quite some time so I wrote him a letter a few weeks ago, to invite him to lunch. He unfortunately has broken his arm recently and doesn't like to leave the house as he can't dress himself properly. He has a gorgeous house just opposite the Victoria Barracks. He's really interesting and eccentric, he was in the Navy for many years. He'd never cooked for a vegetarian before and was really worried about it, but he made a wonderful pasta dish & bread and butter pudding :D. We connected over old Science Fiction films.

*Matt convinced me to buy some Tintin merchandise from Kinokuniya. It took a great deal of convincing I can tell you, in no way was I easily won over. There was also a neato copy of Call of Cthulhu there, so I picked that up too. They also had alcohol based Pantone inking pens, but they were $95 so I left them there, lamentably. Along with McQueen's Savage Beauty, I'm just too poor right now.

*I picked up a new Gelaskin from Kings Comics, stuck with the Umbrella Academy theme though. Also got a new I <3 Tea Vinyl toy and the latest Tank Girl, The Comics Etc boys will be so jelly. Not really they're cool with me seeing other comic retailers, it's an open retailership.

*Had a minor panic attack in the cab to the Airport, I've never really experienced one like this. It was pretty awful. Do not want.

*My Arbitrary Day gift arrived, I got an Amazing Red Thor TokiDoki Tshirt and some Vinyl Toys. What a winner of a present! I <3 Reddit! If you haven't heard of the Reddit Gift exchange I recommend you hop on Reddit Gifts. It's an international Secret Santa event (the biggest in the world), where you have to do a little stalking of your match and find them a great gift and send it around the world. They do about 4 exchanges a year and they're great fun! Some are strictly snack exchanges and even craft exchanges!

*This week shall be full with relaxation and no anxiety and some house cleaning!

*I'm now really low on funds though after all the fun and I have to find a perfect 3rd Anniversary present for Matt. I am a little worried.

I had a really great time over the week and weekend, I love Sydney. It's a beautiful, international city and I want to move there every time I visit. I love the people in Sydney as well. I'm a pretty lucky person and love the life I live and the people I get to share it with.

I also really need to work on my anxiety it's starting to physically manifest itself even more inconveniently than before. I worry that in time it will stop me from doing things. Better to approach the problem now while I can still tackle it.
