"Ai" (愛) is the Japanese word for love. I can't envision a better word for her tbh.

Nicknames include Tomcat and Cat King. "Leo" is the latin word for "lion" AND it can mean "fierce one".

I need a fic where Edwin gets hit with the "you're now a child" plotline and everyone fully expects him to attach himself to Charles or Niko. But Edwin, even as an ankle biter, is determined to divert expectations. Niko treats him too much like a kid -- baby voice, 'aaaawwwee!!!!', aka not something he's used to -- and Charles isn't nearly upfront enough -- often plastering on a small and can-do attitude, which is worse now that Edwin's a child

But Crystal? Crystal is blunt to a fault and she's so used to bitching at and with Edwin that it's reflexive. So this little brainiac, sassy preteen has latched onto the world's recovering-worst influence. Shenanigans ensue. (AKA: Average older & younger sibling behavior.)

I just think Edwin's autistic bitchy kid ass would love someone he can speak his mind to without fear and have respond in genuine, not watered down or riddle-ified ways. He still likes Niko and Charles too obviously. I need the silliness so badly you don't UNDERSTAND ‼️‼️‼️😩🙏🙏🙏🙏

Crystal is sacrificed by genderswap Simon (Simone?) and spends 73 years in Hell. She goes through Edwin’s internalized homophobia arc because I wanna draw girl Monty and Cat King. She and Niko get together during the staircase scene because I NEEEED IIIIT!!!

Imagine if there was a runt Hellhound or something in Hell that Edwin saved and brought with him to earth. This dog is small for her species (Read: the size of a wolf instead of, like, a horse.) and while she likes to chase, she’s not the best at attacking or tracking stuff down. So the boys mainly use her to ward people away from the office while they're out on cases. Oh and an ESA for the boys because fuck you I said so. (Naming her either Neveah, cause it’s heaven backwards, or Hellena.)

Of course, Edwin is her favorite so she’s very in tune with his emotions — it’s why she loves Charles so much. Which also means she doesn't like Crytsal at first but puts up with her for Charles’ sake, and when she eventually hops over to Port Townsend (She stays at the office most of the time.) she absolutely adores Niko. The living see her as a regular ass wolf so Insert cartoon levels of shenanigans when they are sneaking her past Jenny.

She does try to eat the scraps out of the dumpster at one point, like:

Edwin: *Looks around and blanches.* “Where is Neveah/Hellena?”

Charles: “Mate, I thought you had her?”
