Recently discovered your TMNT AU art and it looks really pretty! And interesting! Can we get some lore information, please?
also the way you draw Donnie is just ✨💞✨
It depends on which AU you're talking about ! Lmao
Oh !
It's an Alternate Universe where the turtles are able to live normal lives too, and mutants / aliens / etc. are accepted in society like everyone else. And Splinter ends up and rolling them in a Private School (since I always kind of imagine that Splinter has some like really high paying job. Like a CEO or some shit- Lmao / Hence his constant absence.), And that's where they meet April and Casey for the first time. April is there through her father, since I'm sure that psychologist get paid well (I think?? Lmao). But Casey's there through another relative. Because they thought that public school would be a bad influence on him, since he already kind of marches to the beat of his own drum, you know? They wanted him to be disciplined, not "unhinged". And his dad's pretty much neglectful (only to him though, not his little sister-), so it's only the relative (probably an Aunt or Uncle) that's keeping him in that school.
But despite being in a private school, he still manages to do whatever he feels like. He made friends with most of the athletes, and they have their way around the school's faculty and secret hideout spots. So he kind of just took what they taught him and used it to his own advantage to do his own thing, since we all know Casey's not very much of a follower. But essentially he just screams troublemaker. At least, from an outside perspective. I had Casey and April be friends first, and then the turtles came into the picture after that. But it kind of had the same premise where April met them first and then introduced Casey to them after. Raph and Mikey clicked with him pretty much right away, and Leo didn't dislike him but he felt pretty indifferent towards him. Donnie was the only one that just despise Casey for a long time. And I partially kept the stupid trope where he just ADORED April the day he met her, and then when he met Casey, he was like, "Who's that? :/ ". Lmao
Those two didn't really talk for the first couple of months, they just kept their distance. But it was mostly Donnie's fault, because Casey was pretty open to him when he first met him. Then Donnie just gave him this dogshit first impression and, he was like, "Alright. I don't know what I did to you, but I'm not dealing with this." But after a few months, it got exhausting keeping up this feud of theirs, so they started just being very neutral towards each other instead of always glaring or saying something under their breath. Donnie was also very stressed out by the school, given his high IQ and great GPA. The school would put a lot of pressure on him all the time and always wanted to display him like some trophy. (I also want to note that Donnie and Leo are basically the poster children for the school, given that Leo also ran the Student Body Association at their school. But he wasn't going through the pressure Donnie was going through at all.) It was horrible. He just wanted a way to run away from it all sometimes, but he didn't know how, so he kind of just bottled it all in.
That's when my drawing comes in, because one morning he saw Casey at one of his hiding spots, and he thought, "Fuck it. I'll go over there." Casey was definitely surprised when he showed up, but he didn't reject his presence. He said things like, "I thought you hated me" , "I thought I was just some bastard child to you" in a half joking way. And Donnie didn't deny that he thought those things about him, but now he doesn't feel that way anymore. Or at least not as strongly. Then Donnie let out everything that he was holding in to Casey about school and how much pressure they've been putting on him, and Casey actually felt really bad for him because he had no idea he was even dealing with any of that. I mean he does sports, but the pressure from sports and the pressure from academic excellence are completely different. And that's when he asks Donnie if he wants to run away with him for the day. Donnie has never ditched before, but he's not exactly the kind of person that wouldn't. He just never really had a good enough reason to or a place to go. He took Casey up on that offer and they went wherever the day took them. Casey would literally hop on buses or trains and Donnie would follow asking where they were going and Casey would say, "I don't know- !" LMAO
They ended up on the other side of the city for the entire early morning to afternoon, not even caring if anyone notice they were gone and called their parents (Well, for Casey his Aunt or Uncle), or if Donnie's brothers or April were calling / texting them. They felt so free together, it was honestly the most fun either of them have had with anyone before. For Casey, he saw a different side to Donnie all together, and seeing him genuinely smile and laugh because of him made his heart race in a different way from regular adrenaline or hockey. For Donnie, being with Casey like this felt so exciting ! He was just compelled to follow him blindly. He didn't care where they were going or how far from home they were, he just couldn't say no. 🥺♥️
That's all I say about this AU for now, because the rest I haven't really figured out ! But I hope you enjoyed this small reading about it, and thanks for asking me ! ♥️
Thank you so much for answering! Reposting so I won't forget to draw something based off this post, because this AU sounds really cute! 💝💝💝
