Was rewatching Sam's first scene in TWS for reasons and I always forget how unsubtle the flirting is. Like!!!! Steve was so into Sam IMMEDIATELY. He was straight up tugging on Sam's pigtails in the lunch line. He was showing off. He was making an effort. He opened up like a spring flower as soon as Sam pushed back on him.

AND SAM. Sam INSTANTLY matched his energy and started giving him a check yes or no note. "Come see me at work 🥰🥰🥰🥰" He was like, I'm gonna establish a connection so good, this man's gonna be thinking about it after nazis come back from the dead to kill him again. Giving him music recommendations, flirting with his girl friends, tugging on his pigtails back.

I always kinda fixate on how Sam’s gaze lingers condescendingly on Steve after he delivers this line, and it’s produced this headcanon where after the VA scene, Sam and Steve go out on a date and hit it off really well and go back to Sam’s place and bang, but Steve wakes up while Sam is still making breakfast and is like “I’m sorry to do this, but I have to go” and is apologetic and cringe-y and Sam kinda watches him dubiously with his spatula in hand but is like “alright, man, see you around.” Whether Steve left because he got cold feet or a mission kinda varies in my head. But it makes Sam’s “if u EAT breakfast u fuckin shit” face in this scene (and the startled but slightly reserved way he initially answers the door) funnier to me.

Like I have not been able to stop thinking about this????

i feel like this has been discussed before but SAMSTEVE FIREFIGHTER AU where steve is the reckless fireman who’s smart but a little hotheaded and sam is the paramedic who he’s worked with for years and is best friends with him (and ok sam might be crushing on him a little) and GOD after one fire steve barely makes it out in one piece and he needs to get carted to the hospital and sam sits with him in the back of the ambulance and practically screams at him that he could’ve gotten KILLED and “what the hell am i supposed to do when you’re in there risking your pretty little ass and i can’t be there to save you?” and steve looks up at him, a little drowsy off the morphine he was given to dull the pain, and says “well you’re my guardian angel, you always save me”

can you people not keep getting hurt just so you can spend more time with sam please. Poor Sam can’t take any more of people he loves constantly having their lives put in danger. who am i kidding. this is the best. gimme
