The fact cap says ‘on va voir’ to Batroc is the antithesis of the stereotypical American Warrior. A different director would have had him respond ‘I don’t speak asshole’ verbatim but that’s never been who cap is. So much of the brilliance of Captain America is the dichotomy between how the government pushes the cap image of the quasi colonial republican propaganda machine and Steve’s gentle nature, liberalism, respect for all peoples, and complete ambivalence about America, in this essay I will…
I am a ✨whore✨ for Steve Rogers, but with the amount of Steve references in She-Hulk I NEED Sam Wilson to swoop in for the final episode and highlight that he is now Americas ass (and thighs and eyes and chest and everything) and for Jen to start obsessing over her new colleague instead.
This is why people annoyed me when they thought that Sam was being overdramatic and was wrong for giving up the shield in tfatws, it was never about him not feeling worthy. It was about having to deal with constant racism like this shit here (among other things).
People constantly not giving him the same respect that they gave Steve. People constantly inserting their opinion "Bucky would've been better," for no actual reason. Constantly having to deal with unnecessary stress and judgment simply because he's Black and taking over the mantle from Steve. They would NOT be acting like this if Steve gave the shield to Bucky.
The Steve yall love so much choose him to be the next Captain America both in the comics and in the MCU. Get over it! At this point you're just being racist. Sam Wilson IS CAPTAIN AMERICA, deal with it.
Anthony Mackie is more than Capable of being Captain America and will do an amazing job. He's more than deserving of the title.
