Sometimes I wonder why Extra Archer even bothered to hide his true name. Like... nobody there knows him anyways. "Yeah my true name is Shirou" "Who?"

1) because he fucking hates shirou. he hates that he is emiya shirou and the whole of his arc in extra and ccc is archer gently being told that he doesn’t have to be emiya shirou but in that case he’s gotta decide who red archer is instead

2) because if he just told it immediately he wouldn’t be able to tell it at the most emotional moment possible, namely in the ccc servant end where he’s separated from hakuno by the death barrier but he figured out they were alive at the same time and tells her his name right as he gets deleted because he’s banking on being able to meet again on earth
