Katniss is painting with the yellow. Peeta is leaning on the wall. Peeta got his sleeve dirty to paint these flowers and I honestly find that adorable
I put it off long enough, but I finally read the fanfic @disgurrr recommended, Give You My Wild. So, I did not expect it to span so many years, I expected it to stop at Katniss and Peeta's wedding or something like that. It was really cute, really unique because as I said I never expected it to last so long. I like that it didn't have that much angst. I really love angst, however it's a nice break. I didn't do it last time but TW: Abuse, Child Abuse
I said that I'd read any fanfic you recommended, and I decided to keep my promise. @waywardangel-wilds I read the fic you recommended - I know I am a little late, but you had bookmarked Alone In A Crowded Room and I had to read it.
A Girl, A Boy And Everything Else is very good. However, I can't say I don't have a couple of comments. First, I think the fic should have been set earlier, not when they were 19 but when they were 18. It's just a thing that threw me off because it implied that Katniss was drowning in depression for about 1.5 years. Also, Peeta might be a bit OOC in Chapters 2 and 3. He seemed a bit too distant, especially considering that it has been at least a year since the hijacking. Very good, the right amount of angst, it made sense (unrealistic plot is one of my biggest turn offs). I hope you post chapter 6 soon.

I think that he would handle it better than Katniss would if he died first. He wouldn't kill himself, but he'd be depressed for life, always thinking about her. He would try to distract himself with work when he could, but in the end it wouldn't work very well and while he would seem okay on the outside he would be hurt inside. Also, I think his flashbacks would increase substantially after her death, if he still had them all these years later (yes, I know what is said in Mockingjay, but hopefully we are talking about decades in the future while that is mentioned before the epilogue).
Katniss would kill herself. Just that. The moment she learnt that Peeta was dead she'd drink herself to death(worse than Haymitch) or something like that. But we just hope that they'll both die at the same time of old age and peacefully.
Quick question for a fanfic: How much time do you think passed between the end of Catching Fire and the first wave of people returning to twelve? I mean besides Katniss and co or Peeta. Because I can't find for the life of me even a mention of when they first came back. But they have to return, because they build a medicine plant. I would guess the war ended at the end of November, that Katniss returned to Twelve mid to end of December, and Peeta returned at the beginning of March, maybe a bit earlier. But do the first people come before or after he does?
Edit: It does say that Peeta returned before the rest of the District, although it doesn't say if it's a couple of weeks or a couple of years. So, how long do you interpret that gap? Would it be before Katniss' birthday or after, for example?
I need recommendations for Post-Mockingjay fanfics because I absolutely adore them. Like, seeing Katniss, Peeta, Haymitch and whatever other character cope with their trauma in whatever way they can, trying to move on, make sense with their new lives. I live for these! My recs currently are Back to Twelve by igsygrace (the entire series are my favourite fanfics of all time, especially the Mutt), Us Among The Living by aspiringpandabear ( @vasilissadragomir on tumblr) and Blooming in the Spring by morgswrites. Edit 2: I also recommend Gravity by VanillaCottonCandy if you want a lighter read. It's not light hearted, but it's much more than my other recommendations, I couldn't bring myself to finish Skin & Bones so for an hour I paced up and down sobbing
