Lady Luck: Name
"Oh, oh dear, the doors locked!" Di's ghost wavered as she slammed hard into the door, arms first.
"Ya don't say?" She sighed sarcastically, she waved one hand as she looked down at her boots, kicking away some hive dung she stomped through in her escape. "Get to it little ghost."
"Don't call me little," her ghost complained. "Everytime we come to help Sloane, something bad happens."
"Eh," Di shurgged, looking back down the stairwell. "We got this." She made a surprised 'oop!' as two acolytes appeared at the bottom, tossing down a void gernade that sucked the essence from them, reducing them to bones and dust.
"Why don't we ever go somewhere that people actually like us?" Ghost complained, it's little blue beam working on the door. Di was watching her gernade eat through a few thrall before it ran out, she popped off a few shots and looked to her ghost.
"Ah!" the ghost repremanded before Di finished speaking.
"Ugh," Di sighed, watching him work. She glanced at the bottom of the stairwell again and panicked as a knight with a sword and sheild appeared around the corner. It raised its sheild and slowly began to stomp up the steps.
Di took aim but the red glare from her sights told her she was empty for kinetic ammo.
"Uh!" She fumbled for her energy weapon, backing away as the knight lumbered closer. "Anytime now!"
"JOEL!"
"I got it! Run Diana!" The door gave way, sliding to the side as Di ran through the opening crack, turning at the commands of "hard left!", "hang a right!" "big hole!" from her ghost. A less than encouraging, but frightening urge of "go! go!" speeding her into a surge of altered flight.
Di felt as if her feet barely touched the ground, it was almost like she were on her sparrow she ws running so fast. She came to an odd room with the door out of her path, luckily there was a cutout of the wall---despite her ghosts warning of "right! door. on. right!" she leaped through the cutout sideways, lunging into a roll and back onto her feet, sprinting up the stairs.
When the shooting stopped and she cleared the exit, Di stumbled, rolling across the deck until she stopped on her stomach.
"You okay?" Her ghost asked tentatively, floating aorund her head as she rolled onto her back and sighed heavily.
"A few bumps, couples snags but...I'm okay." She reached up and cupped his shell affectionately. "I'm sorry snapped...Damn Knight snuck up on us, and...I'm I called you little."
"You called me...'Joel'." He responded after a minute.
"I was in panic mode," She laughed a bit nervously, "I'm sorry."
"No it's okay," The ghost shook in its shell, rhe equivalent of a head saying no. "I...kinda....like it."
"Do you now?" Di laughed and sat up, watching as her ghosts eye flitted around a bit before he noddled. "Well, then Joel it is." She tapped the top of his shell and smiled, "How bout you fast travel us back to Sloane there Joel and we'll see about gettin you a new shell to go along with that new name?" She winked a cyan eye at him, and in return, he twitched his shell in a way that made Di think he was smiling at her.
