Music Playlist

I love making playlists for my stories to keep me inspired, however, they always end up repeating the first song that inspired the story 😅

This is a song I’ve seen a story weave for and I’d like to see the variations of stories from other writers who hear this song.

when i hear this song i see:

a vampire hunter is at a party but bored, but he spots a beautiful woman and follows her as she leads him out of town to a dead tree on a hill.

She glamours him to show him a story as she sings. The faces are lost to shadow

she lived in the village and was in love with a childhood friend. as adults she offered her heart to him and he laughed her away. ‘It is not meant to be’, you are not the one.’

She went to that very tree to make herself feel better when she was murdered by a man with a senseless bloodlust. He carved her skin with designs as she slowly bled out and left her for dead. As she lay dying, her white dress stained and wet with blood ahe vowed to find her true love in the next life.

'under a tree ar quarter three, i had some hope in me/ but life was taken from me, but i did not feel peace/ i made a vow within my gown, that love would come to me/ but there he is and suddenly, i had been found’

as her vision fades a man comes into view. His skin is darker than hers, he is a forgiener to her land. His eyes are a dark red and he is dressed simply but elegant. He is a vampire. He takes pity on her and lifts her up against him. As the hunter watches, the girls face is shown to be a girl the hunter knew–he had been the friend to turn her away.

He screams as the vampire bloods her, he sinks to his knees in horror as his friend becomes altered. The woman wraps her arms around him and hugs him from behind, bending down to whisper in his ear breathlessly and with a hint of lust.

'i adore him’, the hunter knows she’s speaking about the vampire despite the fear her face in her glamour held in her memories.

the glamour fades and she leaves him on his knees, going to the tree where the dark skinned vampire is waiting and hugs him, worried about if the hunter would have came to kill her and her lover if she had not decided to kill him first to ensure their saftey. She admits to liking going to her old village, and dancing at the festivals when the crowds mood is high, but it isnt the same.

Thw hunter gets to his feet as she comes close to kill him, but he kisses her and begs her to come back and be with him, what a fool he had been to not realize his feelings when she was human, he wants to find a cure for her. She touches her lips and looks in his eyes and sings softly to the vampire behind them.

'what is this, a painful twist, is this a bitter kiss? There’s so much life left in his eyes, it should not end like this.’ She moves away from the hunter and returns to the vampire, looking at him pleadingly.

'my dreams were slain, my face was stained’ the vampire lifts his hand and strokes the scars on her face, 'with memories of my pain. But peace still came,’ she touches his lips as he smiles lovingly at her. 'I’ll give him the same,’ he looks concerned, pulling on her hand as she starts to turn away but she gently pulls loose and glamours the hunter again to make her and the vampire look human. 'I will be ok,’ she says, a spell to her words to make him forget when he opens his eyes next. He closes his eyes and begs her

“will we ever be together”

she laughs softly, hearing the desperation in his tone.

“no i think not, its never to become…” she turns and takes the vampires hands as the hunter sinks back to his knees, crying with his eyes closed. “for I am not 'the one.’..”

the hunter opens his eyes and remembers vaugly talking to a woman he remwmbered from long ago and her husband. But he doesn’t understand why he had been crying.
