UNPOPULAR OPINION WARNING
I like it.
The thing that made me fall in love with Alec in the first place was his love to his family. When Mag said “you should follow your heart” Alec agreed- and there, he followed.
People should remember that Alec’s love is not only for Magnus- They should understand that a significant part in Alec’s life is his family and the need to protect them. So he followed his heart and chose to protect his family by proposing.
People need to stop bitching about Lydia and that scene. It’s not like Alec magically became Heterosexual after this scene. It’s not like he’s not going to end up with Magnus. It’s an amazing scene that shows Alec’s kind heart, his diverse personality and his own feelings and not only his romantic feelings- Something that a lot of people tend to forget.
