It's so funny how often on this show Utkarsh is like "I saw all the possibilities and hooks for Bor'Dor to be a better person. I saw it, I looked it in the eye, I acknowledged it, and I ignored it because I wanted to cast Vitriolic Sphere on the party so badly."

Bor’dor was in the Ruby Vanguard
“Death, upon death, upon death.”

Bor'dor left everyone worst than when he found them
Betrayal knows your name Bor'dor Dogson...Sleep well.
ok but also like…
“god didn’t help me/my loved ones so now i’m mad at god” is a motivation that makes sense for people in our world
but in exandria, the gods are literally incapable of direct intervention due to an actual physical-metaphysical barrier designed to keep them from doing that
and the reason that barrier exists is as a response to the calamity - you know, the thing that was caused by people like ludinus da’leth who decided that killing the gods was The Thing To Do Now!
(and also the country that ludinus da’leth is (partly) in charge of persecutes and executes worshippers of unnapproved deities like the wildmother, so ludinus da’leth would himself have had bor’dor’s mother killed, just as a matter of principle!)
and like, obviously, grief is not rational, and it leaves people vulnerable to cult mentalities and manipulation, so it makes sense that bor’dor would end up in this situation! he wants to blame somebody! very understandable! but once again, every single time we get somebody being like “well but what if the ruby vanguard are right?” it’s like… cool story, still a murder cult.
the thing i like about bor'dor is that he is the PERFECT target for a high control group (ex: a doomsday cult dedicated to killing the gods) he was literally made for it all the vanguard would have needed to do was meet his concrete needs (food housing safety) and offer him some affection and by the time the affectionate phase of indoctrination was over he’d be stuck where else is he going to go? who else is going to help him? nobody and the vanguard can prove it! because not even the gods helped him before! and it doesn’t matter that it’s insane because he’s already in too deep to notice cult member: complete so i am willing to be slightly less annoyed by bor'dor feeling this way than by Literally Everyone Else because i am predisposed to be understanding toward cult victims (because. listen. no matter what else he was. bor'dor was a fucking VICTIM of ludinus da'leth.) okay now that I’ve said all that and gotten it off my chest: YEAH THANK YOU OP G O D D A M N FIVE MINUTES OF THINKING LUDINUS’ SHIT THROUGH FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF ‘HM WHAT WILL THIS MAN GAIN FROM ME BUYING HIS SPIEL’ CAN WE PLEASE GIVE IT A SHOT every time orym visibly restrains himself from going ‘can we FOCUS THE FUCK UP’ i salute him for his self restraint i would NOT have the patience COOL STORY. STILL MURDER. STILL A DOOMSDAY CULT. FORGIVE ME IF I’M NOT IN A RUSH TO SIGN UP. (via @words-writ-in-starlight)
utkarsh was SO funny for making a character that was meant to end in pvp against 5 characters who has a grand total of 42 hit points at level 9. absolutely perfect no notes.
The way it basically confirmed for me that Bor'dors proudest moment is fooling them all and thats why he chose that moment with the pipe, he knew that they fell for it hook line and sinker. That smug asshole, i love him so much
i literally stepped out for five minutes and bor'dor is EVIL?
I love them having this sad conversation across Utkarsh and Marisha says “angry and pity don’t have to be mutually exclusive” and Utkarsh just nods knowingly in the middle.
hey now feels like a good time to mention that dog'son is an anagram of "no gods"
