Honestly though it's kind of scary how easily Sand laughed off the fact that Ray left bruises on him after their fight (wasn't even a fight because it was just Ray screaming at him), and how Ray wasn't very concerned. Like, I've read two fics till now where Nick sees those injuries and deals with Ray because someone needs to because Sand just fucking won't, but someone needs to protect him from Ray.

Sand heals Ray, but Ray destroys Sand

Ray says he's addicted to Sand, but in the next scene he is again abusing him. At this point I'm okay if they're not endgame. I know the show will probably make raysand happen, but Ray isn't good for Sand, he is not his safe space. Sand doesn't deserve this treatment and he'll probably slip into depression if things keep going this way. His patience with Ray is costing him his own mental peace and actual income (throwing away his liqueur bottles, his source of income, while he has to pay for his own college because rich kid Ray made him feel guilty for being poor is not the peak romance this show seems to think it is). Sand cannot afford to lose these things because poor boys don't have coffers full of generational wealth that'll afford them expensive therapies whenever they feel like healing.

The fact that Ray's father was able to understand such a simple truth in such a short period of time and offer help to Sand while Ray refuses to show even an ounce of empathy despite Sand confiding about his debts to him.

Ray weaponsises Sand's monetary issues and throws them back in his face like an accusation and makes him feel guilty for his major source of income (selling liquor). Sand may be Ray's emotional punching bag or 'safe space', but Ray is definitely NOT Sand's safe space.

Ray will come back crying a million times and say a thousand sorrys, but the fact remains that he is emotionally abusing Sand. Their relationship is entirely one-sided with Sand giving and giving and Ray receiving and receiving and giving only grief to Sand in return.

Oh yaaassss THIS IS what I've been waiting for! You better give me mad jealous possessive Ray losing his mind over someone even looking at Sand! And this is his ex! Double danger! Aahhhhh
