Saw @salaarfanindia's recent post, I couldn't help but notice some parallels between Destiel and Varadeva. This may be quite the stretch but please excuse me.
Dean to Cas (after Cas has been staring at him intensely) : Cas,not for nothing, last time someone looked at me like that, I got laid.
Cas: *is dumbfounded*
Deva and Varadha... Well
Deva to Varadha : I have many friends more good looking than you.
Varadha : *cant tell if he is offended or horny*.
I could go on but I won't. . I know some of this is a stretch but I couldn't help but remember an old beloved tv series and a new but beloved movie together... Apologies if this sucks..
Noooo wtf this doesn't suck at all...
If I hadnt watched Salaar 5.5 tims already this wuda made me do it
In the first scene, Rudra asked Varadha to bring his army to get back his nose ring. Varadha took Deva, the only army he would ever need. Deva went as far as holding a livewire to defeat Rudra's wrestler and almost died in the process.
In the next scene, the voiceover said in that place, who lost the battle, lost everything. When Deva was helpless and about to lose everything, Varadha entered. Varadha not only defied a direct order from his own father, but also gave up his biggest territory without any qualms to safeguard Deva.
This shows that if Deva would go to any extent and kill anyone for Varadha and Varadha would sacrifice things most important to him for Deva's sake.
What if Varadha sacrificed his Salaar and asked Deva to go away, because he didn't want him to be reduced only to a weapon for himself? What if Deva killed that part of himself by binding himself to his mother's word because he didn't want Varadha to feel the guilt?
It's clear from the scene when Varadha apologized to Deva after he beheaded Narang that he didn't enjoy using Deva as a weapon. Even when they were kids, he knew Deva was capable of getting his nose ring back, but still tried to hold him back. He was equally afraid and awed of the extent Deva could go for him, though he was the one who actually went to him for help in the first place. Similarly, he might have asked Deva's help in getting the throne in the heat of the moment, but then doubted his decision after watching Deva going berserk.
I don't think Deva would have bound himself to Amma's words without Varadha's implied or expressed consent. Amma also had asked Deva to promise not to return to Khanshar, but instead he went and promised Varadha he would return on his call.
Deva had promised Varadha that he would be both the hunter and bait for him. He had been a hunter for him in Khanshar. And now that he was the one being hunted, is it for Varadha too?
Throughout history, there has been only one other man this feral about his babygirl
hi everyone! this valentine's day, @deadloverscity and I present the first varadeva dedicated event! anyone is welcome to join by writing, drawing, editing, or using any other form of media, to publish on the 14th 💕
the only restriction is that the theme is happy varadeva, so no sad endings or excessive angst. there is also no rating restriction, so go wild on the smut if that's what you prefer! all we ask is that wherever you post your works, you use the hashtag #varadevaloveday and link to it on tumblr as well so we all can see what you've created! we also want to keep the event friendly for everyone so we ask that in the case of extreme content you do add trigger warnings at the top of your work/at the beginning of your edit.
although one shots are recommended/single chapter fics are recommended, wips are allowed - just make sure to post the start of your work on the 14th!
enjoy!
thanks to @sinistergooseberries's incredible au list my brain cannot stop thinking of reincarnation au oh my god.
thinking about them dying (both of them yes 😔), ponniyin selvan watchers do we remember... aditha and nandini? do we remember the dagger scene, do we remember the pain, the heartbreak?
now the same dagger scene but with varadeva !! The person you loved the most, the person you wanted to protect the most, the person for whom you'd tear the world apart for-- dies by your own hands. wonderful isn't it?
and genuinely post death, they become stories, legends--Star-crossed lovers, mortal enemies, unfortunate friend literally anything.
I am sorry guys have a good day 😔
