Love is patient Love is kind Love never fails
Picture Post, magazine article from March 23, 1946
You see Kimball working on the section called The Whale Who Wanted to Sing at the Met, and to his eft hangs an early model sheet of the Siamese Cats from Lady and the Tramp, a film that wouldn't be in theaters until almost a decade later. Ollie Johnston is credited as Disney's top animator, while Milt Kahl, in the last image, doesn't get mentioned at all.

Lovely Disney art
Joe Rinaldi's storyboards compared to final stills of Lady and the Tramp.
His work has so much life, and they ended up being a great inspiration for the finished film. Even Frank Thomas said once that Joe had a lot to do with what was great about Lady & the Tramp.
The way she looks away... this scene is just priceless! What perfect draftsmanship of animation.

TOP 12 MOMENTS OF DISNEY ANIMATION?
The mexican magazine CinePREMIERE listed their 50 top moments in Walt Disney Studios animation history, according to them (according to writer Luis Miguel Cruz). These above are only their top twelve, you can see them all here.
Even though I don't personally agree with all of his top decisions (or many of them), the fact that the writer and magazine took the time to appreciate Walt Disney's legacy, from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to Wreck-it Ralph, and choose those key moment that display amazing craftsmanship in animation, as well as loving and lasting characters and memories is amazing.
Do you agree with these top twelve? What would your choices be?
what's cuter than puppies shaking their tails!
Soon coming to theaters... Lady and the Tramp! (back in 1955)
HOMAGE TO FRANK THOMAS
Frank Thomas was one of Walt Disney's team of animators known as the Nine Old Men.
He was a Disney Legend, and did quite a team when paired with Milt Kahl in scenes such as the witchcraft duel in The Sword in the Stone or the I Wanna Be Like You scene in The Jungle Book.
He was best friends with fellow animator Ollie Johnston and created lovable and transcendent characters and scenes like the ones above, thus creating a spot for him in the history of animation for which he will always be remembered.

"All cartoon characters and fables must be exaggeration, caricatures. It is the very nature of fantasy and fable." - Walter E. Disney
Time to give some love to the animal characters of the classics! (I know technically stitch isn't one, but he passes for a puppy)
