6 DISNEY PRINCESSES DRESSED BY MEXICAN DESIGNERS

Disney challenged six mexican fashion designers to create a dress for a Disney Princess of their choice in the way they truly envisioned the character but with the twist of their personal point of view and styles.

You can see the finished result modeled by the Princess doll, and in the end, personally, the only one I really liked was Ariel's. It reflected the under-the-sea theme, and it was not about the designer trying to redo one iconic dress like happened with Aurora's or Snow White (which I didn't like at all, the original's were way better), but make a new one he felt she could wear and was all about her. Redoing an iconic dress is too hard because of what it already symbolizes for so many, and it's going to be hard for people to embrace.

Also, he was the only one who I felt felt the passion and felt the weight of what he was doing, and even shared his respect to Walt and one of his famous mottos -"If you can dream it, you can do it". The other designers, in my opinion, talked superficially about the organza and silk, and never really stopped to think much about who these princesses were, they just automatically assumed they would propose their version of the original iconic dress.

Here’s a look at the new collection that will be available later this May which include a large Pocket Tote ($295), Satchel ($195), Pocket Satchel ($260), and Tablet Sleeve ($90).

You will be able to find it in the Downtown Disney Marketplace at the Walt Disney World Resort will have all of these and more, on Saturday, May 25, 2013.

If you are totally in love with the collection, but wish it came with a white background, I have great news. Beginning June 3, the Disney Parks Store will offer a Rainbow Collection Letter Carrier with a white background, limited time only, of course, so don't waste any time!

MINNIE INSPIRES COLLECTION IN MEXICO'S FASHION WEEK

This trendy mouse was the main inspiration in the runway of Pink Magnolia collection in the mexican Fashion Week that took place last week.

The autumn/winter collection was charming, feminine and flirty, with many skirts, tops, cardigans and pants, where the characteristically mouse ears and bows were everywhere!

I love the details such as the glasses; some of these pieces I can totally see myself wearing. Love to see how Disney inspires fashion. And even Minnie walked down the runway in a fabulous pink dress with feathers.

NEW DISNEY-INSPIRED HANDBAGS BY VERA BRADLEY

This gorgeous, colourful and floral-themed assortment of bags and accessories will be blooming this fall in the Disney parks. Known for their stylish quilted cotton luggage, handbags and accessories, Vera Bradley has been infusing color into all aspects of women’s lives for more than 30 years. Disney Theme Park Merchandise worked closely with Vera Bradley to develop two new patterns that will appear on items this fall.
